Mammogram and sonogram done now to see a breast surgeon
I am 32 years old started having nipple discharge from my right nipple in one spot for over a year. Wasn't really concerned about it because I thought it may have been normal. I went to the doctor for an unrelated reason and mentioned it while I was there. The doctor did a breast exam and found a lump. He sent me to have a mammogram, after the mammogram the radiologist said I needed a sonogram which was performed immediately afterwards. The radiologist found a 6mm palpable mass. I went in for my follow up appt. With my pcp a couple days afterward who has an immediate referral in for a breast surgeon. This was thursday. He said if I don't hear from the brest surgeon by Tuesday to call him. I also had some lab work done. My liver enzymes are extremely high so now I also have to have an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder done Tuesday. I'm really hoping the 2 are not related. However Friday I noticed that I have 3 small hard knots above the mass that seem to me like enlarged lymph nodes which are still there. I wasn't horribly concerned at first but now that I have those little hard knots I am starting to worry bad. Anyone know what the chances are of it being breast cancer with those symptoms and also what the chances are of it already spreading to my liver? I am really hoping the 2 are not related! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi desi0719, I'm sorry you find yourself here. I noticed you did not mention a biopsy, A biopsy is the only thing that can determine whether or not you have cancer. Once you have a diagnosis, if it is cancer, then you would be referred to an oncologist and breast surgeon. At least, that's the usual sequence. More information is needed! I'm sorry I can't help with your other questions, but if you can try to stay calm and not panic in advance that might help you. You could ask your pcp for an rx if you are getting too stressed. I'm wishing you good luck! Please keep us posted.

That's what I am seeing the breast surgeon for is the biopsy. I am stressing myself out
Thank you so much for responding

The waiting is absolutely the hardest part. If you do have bc, once you have a treatment plan in place it is much less stressful. Sending you a hug!

Thank you so much! It is definitely hard for sure!
