last week I had an ultrasound done on a lump that I recently found. I was told there was a 7mm cyst but there was a shadow on the inside which made the dr believe there could be a solid component to it. Today, I went in for a cyst aspiration and possible biopsy. When the dr tried to aspirate the cyst she said it actually bent the entire needle...which she showed me and was not able to collect any fluid They ended up having to doa biopsy but I wasn't told much more about the lump...was it solid? Is it still considered a cyst? Couldn't fluid be that thick to bend a needle? I'm only 31 and although I've had a fibroadenoma before, I've never heard of anything like this happening. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

So sorry for what you've been through today. Did the technician/nurse/doctor who did the biopsy give you any information on what to expect, or when they will be contacting you? A solid lump could be a number of things. Eight out of 10 lumps that women may feel in their breasts are benign (not cancerous). Check in with the doctor's office on what to expect in terms of call back of the results, and scheduling a time to have your concerns addressed. Hang in there.... one day at a time!
