Hey all! I have been obsessed with finding pictures of hair growth now that I'm waiting for it to come back in completely, so I figured I'd start a thread where we can post pictures ofprogress.

Thanks for posting those photos. You sure are beautiful! I'm currently at week #6 of Taxol, and figure I'm about on track as you. It's nice to see how it grows in over time. I'm going to keep encouraging it along!

Veronica--you're beautiful! Thanks for sharing your photos. At which week do you think your hair was about an inch long? I finished chemo 10 days ago. New growth started about 6 weeks ago while I was still on treatment. I am considering getting extensions, but the salon said I need an inch of hair before they can do it. I'm trying to estimate just when that will be. Hoping by late spring/early summer. Won't be able to stand that hot itchy wig when it is hot out!

Thanks so much ladies! Definitely wasn't easy to post. And I wasn't sure anyone cared as much as I did.

Amapola36: I feel great! I've had two fat grafting surgeries in the last 3 months and I will have my exchange June 29th. It can't come fast enough.

Seq24: I'm not sure exactly when it was an inch, but from my pictures, it looks like somewhere between week 9-12 pfc. And I agree, the wig is way too hot and itchy.

Weeks 33, 34, 35, 36 (btw, any time my eyelashes look really long in these pics, they're fake. And I have cut the back of my hair 5 times since chemo was over to prevent developing a mullet.

Veronica- Thank-you so much for posting these pictures. I am waiting -- I want to say patiently- but I'm not so much--hopefully my hair will grow soon. Your pictures are great to get a kind of timeline, and maybe by Christmas I can go without a wig or scarf.

I took the week 48 picture today. I attempted straightening it today. Looks a little bowl-cut-ish.

mistyeyes- thanks so much for the vote of confidence! Hair is definitely one of the hardest parts of this process. It almost feels like you lose your identity. Good luck with your hair growth! Wishing you the best!

    KB870- thanks so much! : )

Veronica--OMG! Your hair is gorgeous! I can't believe how much it's grown. You look beautiful!

I am week 13 PFC. In looking back at your pictures mine looks like yours did about week 8. I'm not sure why I am so far behind. The top is still very thin and there is no way I could even think about going without a wig. Are you doing anything special to make yours grow? At what point do you think you started seeing some curl come in? I was hoping some curl would be the silver lining for me but the hair I have is still as straight as it ever was. I'm just really disappointed in this whole hair growth thing. I thought after 3 1/2 months, if I used my imagination, I might actually look presentable but no such luck. We are going on beach vacation in a little more than a month. The condition was that if I didn't have enough hair to go without the wig we would cancel the trip. We may be doing just that.

You look great! Thank you so much for sharing your photos. It gives the rest of us something to look forward to when our hair grows back. Please keep posting.

    seq24: thanks so much!

Don't stress yourself out about it. I had heard that your hair could start to grow on taxol so I just started to let it grow while still doing chemo. I was very excited about it, but soon I got very disheartened. Just some of my hair grew back and it was mostly on the sides. I HATED the way I looked for a solid 2 + months. I felt like i looked like a fryer with my bald hair on top. The only reason my hair looks longer than yours is because part of my hair had an inch head start.

If I ever have to go through this again, I'd shave my head every week until about a month after chemo.

As for the curls, they didn't show up for me until about 7.5-8 months. Before that, it looked pretty straight.

Wishing you lots of luck (and patience ; )! It will come, just never at the pace you want

Thanks Veronica. My hair started growing on Taxol too. I maybe had a half inch or so when I finished chemo. It was very sparse though. My biggest complaint now is the top. OMG, It looks awful!! I had a huge meltdown last night because of it. Thank you for the encouragement and please keep sharing your photos.
