I have pain that comes and goes on my radiated silicon implant side. Don't know what cc is really. Help?

I hope you get some further responses that are helpful. I didn't have radiation so I can't speak to that as a contributing factor....

I did have capsular contracture though. It was quite painful in the final stages, but didn't start with pain. Everyone likely has different "presentations" of it, but for me, cc started with a hardening of the implant and next a definite change in the shape/location of it.

Good luck....hoping you get some more responses.

Just had surgery to address my CC. Symptoms for me (no radiation): overall tightness, hardness of implant, implant moving up on my chest to a degree. Suggest doing some searches and you'll find tons on stymptoms of CC.

So it's fixable through sx, you won't lose your implant? I'm nervous because I was over done with rads and have been told that I'm at higher risk for this.

I have it as well. My implant is rock hard and is over an inch higher than the other side. This happened after radiation. My PS will not do surgery to replace the implant because my skin was so badly damaged, he does not think it'll heal. DIEP flap is usually an option, but I am too thin. Lat flap could be considered, but I am concerned about range of motion. I have a physical job

Sorry to hear KBeee. Thanks for your reply. PS is watching me. I guess we'll see. You go through all this crap and the only "prize" at the end is having nice ps results.

Admire what you do. I always thought it would be so cool to be a paramedic, there on the scene first to save lives. Much respect.

Thanks; I do love, love, love my job.

Hoping your PS has options for you
