Happy 2017 everyone!
Feel better, Wonderland. Good luck, Scottie. I hope your nerve pain goes away. I take neurontin for mine and I think the anti-inflammatory diet and exercising really help me
-
Wonderland, hope you feel better quick!
Relaxing day off everything - thoroughly feeling lazy chilling on the sofa and loving it!
Cheers to a New Year!
Edited to add: Husband walked in 10 minutes ago asking about the telescope he found in the guest bedroom wardrobe. Oh sugar, flew off the couch and sure enough, there was the telescope for DH and memory foam pillow son had asked for. Good grief, I'm turning into my mother, although she would find the missing gifts in March!
-
Feel better Wonderland. Spending the day on the recliner in my pjs - sore throat, ache head - I'm blaming the mall, I avoided the mall the entire holiday season but I went yesterday and today I have the bug
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year
-
Happy New Year! I did my annual "end on a good note, start on a good note" by exercising both days. Yesterday we went to a bigger mall to walk since it was quite brisk outside. One hour of walking and then we negated it all calorie-wise with a visit to a near-by restaurant. Today it was warmer and sunny, so my husband and I walked 38 minutes around the neighborhood.
Wonderland and Cheryl, I hope you feel better soon.
Health, peace, and happiness to everyone in 2017.
-
Changed up my workout a bit today. Took a walk around my neighborhood.
-
Oh Cheryl, please-- you too get better quick and gold star for staying away from the mall for as long as you did. Just in from not teaching a class - Blockfit and no one showed! It's a Bank Holiday here, banks closed, no post and DH&DS are here at home. Tonight at another gym, BB #75 with:bird pose and pretty sure the regulars will be back on their mats; hope so!
Let's keep at it!
-
Wretched weather here. We had about 6 inches of snow overnight, a break (long enough for me to get to my dentist appointment) and now it's snowing again. We are in a winter storm warning until 6 am. When the snow stops, the wind will begin to blow and it will get really cold.....sigh!
Anyway, an hour on the dreadmill & a yoga DVD. School starts Wednesday & the friend I've been subbing for will start out half days and see how it goes. He'll do mornings & I will show up about 11:30 and do the afternoons for awhile (but not too long as we fly off to warm, sunny Arizona for a couple weeks Jan. 20).
Hope everyone gets well and stays well!
-
Happy 2017 everyone. Was on the computer and made myself come here since it's been weeks now and if I do 'other' things then I'm pooped and don't come here so HI to everyone. I may try and go back the 5 pages or so but not promising. Just know that I think of you guys often and am now trying to get back to a normal schedule and lose these 5 lbs and then another 10 still to go. Things have kinda settled down so will get the exercise back up to a routine and beat the eating into submission!
Night sculpted friends.

Saying HI to everyone, too!
I managed to expend as much energy as the ton I took in during the holidays. But now I really need to watch what goes into my mouth.
Have to find the new gym schedule....

The FIRM 500 Calorie Workout
-
Just bought a mini trampoline and love it! Bouncing around doesn't even feel like exercise and makes it much easier to get my steps in on rainy, cold days. So great to be back on the tennis court after having to take a break after my BMX. Having my exchange surgery two weeks from today which will sideline me for a while
-
ok - 45 minute body sculpt class and 30 minute treadmill walk (including g 10 minutes at steepest incline)
Yup - I'm one of 'those' people this year - hitting the gym in early January to jump start things.......... again
Xoxoxo to all!
-
Yesterday morning, I tried aqua yoga. Did not particularly feel like a workout, so I swam some laps after. Went back in the afternoon and did a Zumba class.
No exercise today as DD had her wisdom teeth out and the day was spent taking her to the appt and then caring for her. Back to school for me in the morning.
Got word last night that one of the youthfrom our church was in a fatal car accident. He was a junior in high school. Just heartbreaking.
-
I am so sorry, Ginger.
-
Oh Ginger I am so sorry, heartbreakingbto lose someone so young.
I am feeling much better, I'm left with a dry cough, and I'm sorry if this isn't just tmi but darn it every time I cough I fart, I don't feel gassy at all it's just what is happening it is bizzare.
Tonight went to Body Flow at one gym and Les Mills Barre at another.
Edited to add: Heidi I don't know if you saw the Rose Parade over there (I know they show it worldwide) well the 24 Hour Fitness float was accompanied by a group of Les Mills Master Trainers and local Instructors and they did a Body Jam dance battle between two teams, basically Jamming for the 5 mile rout
-
hi all and welcome tennischick! I've been working like mad trying to wrap things up at work. Last day at old job is 20 Jan; first day at new job is 23 Jan. Won't bore you all with the details but I've been working 50+ hours a week with no overtime and no relief in sight for several years now. Knew I was in-line for another large project. The competent people are always punished with more work. If only I were the type to "allow" myself to fail. Looking forward to a better work-life balance including more regular exercise.
Wishing everyone all the best in 2017! ((hugs))
-
Probably won't workout later because I have been pretty busy around the house today
-
Badger I am so pleased you have a new position, its true they give all the work to a busy and capable person and then swan off and don't look back.
Switched it up and went to the gym this morning but for a class at a reasonable time - 8am for Grit Strength, only because we are going out to dinner with the newlyweds.
-
WWW did a pajama walk this morning & then went to Burger King for goofing around and breakfast. Subbed this afternoon & will probably to a toning DVD tonight. It is SOOOOOO freaking cold here!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Looks like we might get snowed in this weekend. I need to dig out my exercise videos or maybe yoga. Unfortunately down here in usually HotLanta, 2 inches of snow is enough to keep us homebound.
Ginger so sorry about the young man.
Badger best wishes for your new position. I'm well versed with the do good work get more work syndrome. Dragged myself into work this morning even though we are all suffering from the plague here (chest infections). Snow days sound really good right now.

I ordered P90 to keep me busy in the winter. Did day one "sculpt" yesterday and day two, "sweat" and ab ripper today. Or I should clarify I did about half of ab ripperThat was the hardest piece. I may not be able to walk tomorrow!
-
Ginger, sad about the young man. hbcheryl, glad you are on the mend. badger, congrats on the new job.
Yesterday Walk Away the Pounds, 4 miles at 8am, then bone builders class at 3 and another 2 miles in WATP class at 6. Today was just errands in the morning then 2 hours of pickleball this aftrenoon. Eating still out of control but it's on my radar.
Had my first Prolia shot today. Have 2 more years on anastrozole so trying preserve my bones.

long, long travel day! Waiting for my luggage at DIA. Came back to snow and bitter cold. Taking Uber home as I didn't want DH coming out late at night in lousy road conditions. Well I guess my luggage didn't arrive! Had to run to catch my last flight! Gotta go deal with this
-
Planning a workout for tonight
-
Welcome home, Karen.
I just did a 45 minute toning DVD and, since it is 15 below right now and walking outside is not an option, also did an indoor walking DVD. I turned down the volume on the DVD and put on my own music so it was not too boring.
-
45 minute body sculpt class with muscles - mainly triceps - already screaming from Tuesday's class. No lie, they were so sore last night I couldn't sleep because every time I moved the slightest bit one or the other would bend at the elbow somewhat. I think I even moaned with the pain a few times! Anyway - followed that with 30 minutes treadmill at steepest incline (got a vacay with a lot of hiking coming up).
G'night sculpted sisters
-
ruthbru, 15 below, Yikes! Can't even imagine temps like that. If you step outside do you freeze in place?
Errands today but it got me over 10,000 steps. Nothing formal tomorrow either.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Cheryl, sorry I don't get to watch TV much. Was back on Body Jam live the night before though. Saw that they now offer GRIT as a regularly scheduled class at the gym.
Patoo, good luck with Prolia and the bones. Zometa did wonders for mine.
Hope you trace your luggage, karen!
-
This meme sums up the mindset you need to live here (yesterday the high was 5 below and the TV Weather Lady remarked that it was "rather chilly")!
Today's schedule is some exercise DVDs this morning, sub this afternoon & play with a dog tonight (DS will be out of town, so we are dog-sitting Stella overnight).
-
We got maybe 2 inches of snow. It was so easy to use to move, I just pushed it with the shovel. Took about an hour to clear
