Snow days! My parents would let my sister and mestay up to watch the news, and we were thrilled when we saw our school district cancelled. Also, grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup bring back great memories of winter when I was a kid.

Welcome back Georgia! I hope you're feeling well.

Welcome, Vargadoll, it's a rotten club to join but it does have some really nice members!

A favorite memory is donning all our snow gear and making snow forts out in the yard. We would make plates etc. out of snow & take the little red berries that grew on a fir tree (we called them 'Bird Berries' because the birds ate them) and 'serve' them on our plates as we played house in our igloos.

One winter storm I remember is......

First, to Vargadoll, wishing you the best - take one day, one moment at a time - prayers sent your way.

Biggest snowstorm- never to be forgotten here in New England- was the Blizzard of '78. My husband and I were home but daughter in school (2nd grade). Sooner that predicted snow started around 10:00 a.m. fast and hard. At noon our doorbell rang and there she was - school let out early - she had a bit of a walk from top of driveway but school bus driver waited to be sure she got to the door. Snowed for at least two days.

don't know if it was the last time, but a memorable snowball fight I was in was WAY back in college when almost all our apartment complex residents were outside throwing snow. It was one of those early winter, warmish, wet snows. It was so much fun. Wow, that was a long time ago.
