Has anyone had Hand Foot Syndrome? I finished chemo about 4 weeks ago. Shortly before I finished, my feet started swelling. I thought I had infection from where my dog scratched my foot but my doc has been treating me with antibiotics for many weeks now with no real improvement. My feet are very swollen and red and painful and some numbness in my toes. My hands are slightly swollen and my fingertips are very sore. It is hard for me to walk because of the pain and as the day goes on my feet get more painful, red and swollen. This has been awful. This has been going on for at least 6 weeks now and I don't know what to do. I am taking lasix, potassium and drinking power ade 0 because I was getting too weak from all the lasix. My doctor said that this is not HFS because It's not just feet but also Is running up my legs.

If you have any experience with this, I could sure use some help. Thank you.

Senegalady - you mentioned your doc says it is NOT hand & foot syndrome. If you'll go to My Profile and fill in the details about your diagnosis and treatment - what chemo & what else - it will help us to come up with other thoughts. Does your doc know you're taking lasix & potassium? Or anything else you might be taking? Sorry you're dealing with this.
