Should I order a MedicAlert type bracelet?

I know to prevent lymphedema we have to make sure no blood draws/blood pressure/iv placement on arm where lymph nodes have been removed. Have any of you ordered one? Where from? What language should I include on bracelet- and which arm to wear it on?

I have several bracelets - I wear them on the arm with more nodes removed and worse lymphedema. I have a dressy gold one which is classic medic alert, and several from Road ID with rubber bracelet and metal plate. Mine say "no needles/IV/BP" right arm. I would not use the word lymphedema, too many first responders aren't not familiar enough with it to know what to avoid. My son is a paramedic and I had him check with his colleagues on that. I would also avoid bracelets that look too much like regular jewelry. Here are some links:

Some medical offices and pharmacies also have order forms for medic alert bracelets.

I also wear one from MedicAlert on the non LE side. I have several other health problems on my bracelet. I like this company a lot. They have ALL my medical history who to contact and how. It's not cheap, but worth it to me.

i have one from medic alert but need a new one words wore off and I have a nasty allergy to aspirin and nsaids so need to be real careful

Thanks everyone! I bought one and it does give peace of mind. I wear it on my right side (where lymph nodes were removed).

I haven't ordered yet, but should! I have Lymphedema on both arms so I'm not sure where to wear it?

tsoebbin - I have bi-lat LE as well, but wear my bracelet on the arm with more nodes removed. If your LE is pretty similar in both arms, I would wear the bracelet on whichever arm you choose, but make sure it is the type of bracelet that will attract the attention of emergency medical personnel.
