I had a surgical milk duct biopsy last Wednesday through my nipple. I took off steri-strips yesterday. I have a ton of external and internal itching, which I hope is a sign of healing? Also I noticed yesterday a pink ring around the nipple. It looks inflammed. However, there is no swelling, no pus and i have no fever. Which are all signs of infection. Is pinkness around the incision normal? Thans

Call your Dr and discuss the 'pinkness' with him/her. It is possible for pinkness to indicate infection or inflammation. No one here can tell you what is 'going on' - only your Dr can so give a call. It is always better to at least call when anything changes.

I didn't have a nipple incision biopsy but I did have two biopsies. They were both inflamed and sore for a week or two. I would think the breast center has a nurse you could call and followup on. I would try a very mild ice pack not too cold or too long.
