rohanna, I am so happy for you and your mom. I actually got a tear reading your story and you know I don't tear often : ). Donating and volunteering are so great. Everybody wins and it's good karma all around. On another note, I have had the shittiest week in a long time. Everybody in my family has had something effed up, but I don't want to go there right now. Instead I say congrats to rohanna's mom!
-
Rohanna, that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Spookie was 7 this past Halloween.
That's so nice about the scooter for your mom. Warms the heart to think there are still nice people in this world.
-
Rohanna, Don't you just love their rules? They wanted my client to use a manual wheelchair despite the fact that his apartment exited to a 17% grade hill. He said he'd be in the sound the first time he used it. I'm so glad your Mom has more freedom now.
-
Rohanna, something I used since I had chemo and has great effects is a supplement that you can get at Puritan's Pride online, and it's not really expensive at all. It has all kinds of stuff in it, Biotin (who is pretty much a must for hair - it's just vitamin B7 but it does wonders) in a sufficient amount - you need at least 3,000mcg of it, best is 5,000 mcg - and all other goodies, including horsetail extract. It does wonders on the nails too. I've been using this kind of stuff for 6+ years and I swear by it. The only "down" on it is that it does make hair grow. Like, everywhere. So you'll have to shave your legs more often.
I actually just saw that right now it's on sale at PP.

Here's what cheezed me off today, CANCER. CANCER cheezed me off today!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last month my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer, initially Stage I, nope
Stage IV. Last month my own Stage IV cancer showed signs of improvement, PET scan showed shrinkage and less active tumor, nope, this month had to have a CT because my tumor marker kept rising. CT scan revealed my tumor doubled in size from last month. I start chemo again Friday. And tonight I find out that my teenaged grand niece has been diagnosed with salivary gland cancer. I hate cancer. -
DeeDee
How I hate cancer too. You are having to cope with so much and I really feel for you and your family. I wish you a successful and comfortable chemo treatment with low or no side effects, I will be thinking of you.

Thanks for celebrating my mom's mobility with me. She's found the fast button and it's hilarious!
Rock, pm and let me know what's going on. And make a list of butts I need to kick!
Sea, thanks for the advice. I'm going to try it! Haven't had hair on my legs or underarms since rads. Would be totally weird to shave again but I'd do it if my eyebrows and eyelashes come back.
DeeDee, I'm so sorry! Please let us know how you are all doing. I'll be praying for you and thinking about you on Friday.
Wren, they wouldn't even qualify my mom for a manual wheelchair without the 2 years of physical therapy. Who makes these stupid rules?

Still cheezed from yesterday. Was all set to go to a doctor's appointment yesterday and I had to cancel it because hubby instead of seeing if he could leave work about half an hour earlier, left at his normal time and got stuck in traffic. This appointment was necessary to go to because I have to have a minor surgery in January and before it can be done, I have to have a physical. Tried to reschedule the appointment yesterday but they won't be able to get me in until around the 9th. I have to see my Plastic Surgeon in two weeks and I know I am going to get ripped into for not having this part done yet. So I am making my hubby reschedule my appointment for the physical and explain to my PS about why it hasn't been done yet because it was his fault.

Happy Holidays Cheezers! Have a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you like to celebrate :-)
-
Everyone in my house is sick with colds so, we're staying by the fire with tissues and hot tea.
But I wanted to stop by and wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! Stay safe and healthy Cheezers! Hugs!
-
Rockym, I have that same exact little box on the right! It's always a part of my decorations. Happy Hanukkah!
-
Thanks Kattysmith! I am so glad my kids are older now. This has been a rough season and I decorated with a minimalist approach
. Here's to a better 2017 for everyone!
-
Got a nasty message from my mom to call her. She ticked off because hubby and I didn't go be with the rest of the family for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Reason for this was that both hubby and I were sick with the flu. We couldn't even have a proper Christmas dinner. What were we supposed to do, go up there as sick as we were and make everyone else sick too?
Besides if we had been feeling better, we had already been invited months ago to a friend's place for Christmas dinner. Couldn't even go there either.
Tired of being treated as if I am a child who must be told where or with whom I am to spend a holiday.
-
Momm... You did the right thing taking care of yourself and not spreading those germs that I hope leave you in short order. I hear you about assumptions about where one is suppose to spend time during the holidays.
-
I called my mom and got ripped apart for not having been there and hubby and I were basically treated as if we were children and got told that from now until my mom dies that every holiday is to be spent with my family. I have news for her, not gonna happen! Hubby and I have people that we want to spend time with too.
-
It's an oldie, but true.
-
Yep. Hubby told me not to worry about Mom's attitude. Said we will do what we want, how we want and if some don't like it, Oh Well!!!
-
Mommy, I feel your pain. Mymom tried that once with me. Was busting into a family matter within my household. She started ripping me one and screaming. I hung up on her. It was very catharsis and she never did it again.
Spookie, that meme speaks volumes.
-
Yep. Was going to make up for not being up there over the holiday, but after the way she was on the phone to me and hubby found out about it, he said that if she was going to act like that, no sense in us going up there then this weekend.
-
Oh! The holidays. Aren't they wonderful for family drama?
-
Drama!!!
-
That's my mom, the Drama Queen!
-
My son's dog does the bang, you're dead routine. She's getting almost too stiff from age to do it.
-
And the Oscar Award for best dramatic performance goes to ...
Oh no!!! It should have been meeee!!!
-
These are funny memes. I did, however, have to look up memes, though I understood examples. I like the definition from Wikipedia - A meme is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture". A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols. So, now I can use the term and understand its meaning.
-
magic,
thanks for the definition of meme. i didn't know that. meme in filipino means go to sleep. lol! all i know is i am just addicted to the funnies!
-
They say that Meditation is good for cheezers!!
Yup...
Oops!
-
I've always been one to use language to convey my thoughts. The meme thing to me is a bit childish unless it's the one quick picture that can cover a laugh for many. My son will send a pic from time to time, very selective and definitely something that will crack most people up.
