Scared: Stereotactic Biopsy Today
I'm 36 and I've got a 6mm mass at 12:00 but posteriorly located, Birads 4. I talked to my BS yesterday and while he was sympathetic, he felt it could be a number of things due to it's size. With my family history I'm just scared that Thursday will bring me bad news.

Bean,
So sorry for your anxiety and worry about this. Just know we're all here sending our best wishes and positive thoughts that the mass is benign and you can get back to normal life. Please keep us posted!

It took awhile due to location, but they got it. Thank goodness for xanax. I know 80% of biopsies are b9 but just feel like I'm in the 20. -
I had my stereotactic biopsy in October. First of all, congratulations for being on top of your health. And for having a BS who is guiding you through this (I was sent in to my biopsy blindly by an internist). The fact that your BS has said it could be a number of things could actually be a good sign. Hang in there and keep yourself busy with activities for a few more days.

Thanks Renee. I'm taking it easy today and trying to keep myself busy for the next few days. I've got a 4 and 8 year old that I need to be there for.

Two little ones should take care of your time, Bean;) I have a 10 & 12 year old and they've become way more independent just in the last year. Thinking of you tomorrow and wishing for the best.

They do keep me busy. The waiting has thrown me for a loop. My husband and mom have been so helpful. I just woke up in a panic this morning after being relatively calm yesterday. What a roller coaster.

Good Morning Bean,
Been where you are, there again. I know the worry is ever there. Having trouble keeping the hope in sight. I went through the test a month ago only to be told I had Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia (ADH). Recommendation was to have surgery. Spoke with the surgeon yesterday. They want yet another test. Breast MRI, before considering surgery to insure that the entire area that is affected will be addressed in the surgery. ADH isn't Breast Cancer.....yet!. Let me give you a little of my history. I had Breast Cancer back in 2000 and Thyroid Cancer in 2011. So anything negative makes the Doctors nervous.
With that said, I know that it is scary and hard. Family support is key.
I am happy to hear that both your mom and your husband keep you busy along with the kids. Christmas is what you should focus on, not the tests. It is what it is. Enjoy the Holiday with your family. You can't control the results, you can only ride the wave that follows.
The wave for me has had its ups and downs. I find what I enjoy and go after it.
Disney music always helps me stay calm. I am currently listening to the Pentatonix sing "Let It Go"
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I turned on some happy holiday music. It sounds like you've been through a lot. Good luck with your surgeon, upcoming tests, and making good decisions for yourself!

Still no news. I guess the preliminary report is in but my Dr is out until Tuesday. The receptionist was, "I wouldn't be worried though." Great, I'll keep trying. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones! I've learned a lot so far on this site and admire so many of you.

Bean, best wishes for good results, and Merry Christmas.
