I had a BMX with TE placement this past Friday. Since there was lymph node involvement, the plan is to get TEs filled and start rads after. Exchange will be after I heal from rads. Any other BCO ladies have the same tx plan? Tips, advice or words of wisdom to share

Yes Pepper, this seems to be the preferred method. Rads after TE but before exchange. The tightening & possible damage caused by rads will hopefully not be shrinking your skin too small to fit an implant. There is data on the Exchange thread.

Pepper: Below are a couple of thread links. I know it's been discussed in the first thread. Also you might go back to the Radiation Therapy section and scan down the list of threads.

Second the plan. I went through chemo and then rads with TEs so I could feel comfy in knowing that I never possibly damaged my perm implants. Some people do it ok but I wasn't about to chance it to go through another sx again..

Pepper I had a BMX in April, did 5b months of chemo and completed 28 rounds of radiation....currently Im in the healing state and the next step in my journey is the TE implant exchange. While every plan varies based on doctor preference, it seems your plan is similar to mine. While I did surgery, treatment and then radiation (my fills were done while I received chemo) my friend started rads right after she finished being filled. My advice going into radiation...stay hydrated and drink 1 propel a dat, it helps with fatigue, keep you skin moisturized just be sure not to do anything 4 hours before treatment, get some cotton tanks without the shelf bra and wear one daily instead of a bra. This will help keep your skin from getting irritated from rubbing and your clothes getting messed up from the lotion. I swear by coconut oil and massaged it on my breast after my shower and then used the lotion my RO gave me. I didn't rub it in completely...I did this same process right after treatment and at bed time. Towards the end I used aquaphor every night and frosted my boob with it and wore an old tshirt to bed. Laying it on thick was gooey but my skin looks amazing and held up well. But be sure to check with RO for what products they will allow, my RO was all for the coconut oil and now thinks she may recommend it to others. Be sure to check other boards for people starting rads I found great advice there. Hugs x
