I have had bread cancer twice. Once in 2004 and then another cancer in 2012, both breast cancers. I went for an ultrasound requested by my PCP for her file, and the techs then had me do a mammogram. The doctor came in and said she saw three lymph nodes swollen or abnormal looking deep in my arm pit. What is this? I am so sick of all of this. I need to get on with my life for my kids. I don't have anyone to just take over and do for them. Can anyone give me any information?

    Hi DeeDee,

    Ironically I have a similar issue right now, except my "prominent" axillary lymph node was picked up during a routine MRI. I completed treatment and had a mastectomy 2 years ago and this was picked up at what was to be my final visit to the breast surgeon. They were able to get me in for a biopsy yesterday, but now I wait for another few days for results. I've been told that lymph node enlargement can be due to lots of things, infection, cuts on your arm (or if you get your nails done and have your cuticles cut), etc. However I don't think I've had any of that... so it's of course making me crazy.

    So I don't have any helpful answers, just wanted to say I can relate!

    sorry you are both facing this. Unfortunately a biopsy willbe the only definitive way to know what.'s causing the lymph node enlargement.
