Hi All, I am almost 8 weeks PFC...and have about 3/4 inch of hair. Much more in back and on the sides. It is grey. And, I'd love to color it. But, am too embarrassed to have it done in the salon - as I have so little hair and am kind-of a private person (I don't want to get looks or have to answer questions).

Does anyone know of a safe hair color product for post chemo

I don't have an answer to your question, but if it is recommended that you go to a salon, please do not be concerned. Just this morning I had my few remaining hairs is clipped to a uniform length (had some folliculitis issues so I could not shave my head) to better monitor any hair growth. I am three weeks post chemo.

When I called my hairdresser for an appointment, he actually offered to come in early or stay late so that I would have privacy. It was not necessary for me and I went went midmorning.

I go hatless when I take my water aerobics class or when I am walking on the treadmill in the gym. I can't imagine that anyone would have anything inappropriate to say or give any "look". I'm sure you are beautiful regardless of how much hair you have.

We are all different, and I would never suggest you do something that makes you feel uncomfortable.

I've never tried to color my hair at home and don't know what is involved. I would feel much better having it done at a salon. Perhaps a friend could come with you to help give you strength.

    Remain strong

    M

i had my fuzz colored 8 weeks post chemo. The salon people were so great to me. It made me feel so good to get rid of gray.

I waited 5 months PFC but asked my oncologist because it was getting not just dyed but lightened. After telling me he liked the colour of my hair, he told me to go ahead. I'll be going for a root clean up next week
