Is DCIS considered a "pre-existing" condition?

    You should have no worries about being denied medical insurance for any pre-existing conditions, nor being medically underwritten for pre-existing conditions with a subsequent higher premium as a result. With the passage of the Affordable Care Act no medical insurer can deny you coverage or charge you a higher premium rate due to any pre-existing condition. Let's hope this legislation isn't repealed by the Republican Congress!

    I appreciate this topic and wonder what healthcare options people have found in 2017 and presently. I live in Massachusetts and am wanting to travel and noticed concern about finding healthcare coverage. I had two lumpectomies in 2003, mastectomy in 2007 with reconstruction, and another reconstruction surgery in 2008. This was all for DCIS on one side and I have had a clean bill of health since. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am also trying to assess what a potential premium might be with DCIS as a preexisting condition. Thank you for any light you can shed. I wonder what those who posted this question initially ended up finding on their search.
