Ruth, your kitchen turned out super -- really like what you have done!
-
Love your new kitchen, Ruth!
Still no snow in sight here. Went for a hike with DH and saw lots of mountain bikers still around. I will try to get another ride in this week if the weather stays this way.
-
Going to work out today
-
Ruth, that kitchen redo is very nice. It came out great and I know that it was allot of trouble for you.
I hate people in my house and when things go wrong and are drawn out it gets worse.
Nice job!!
-
KB870, where is Brockville in relation to Toronto? My DD#1 and SIL live in Toronto near Bathurst and Wilson. My SIL is a native Torontonian as are his parents. I have a cousin who lives in Ancaster. Good for you on the swimming
Ruth....the kitchen is gorgeous!!
Just about time for my evening walk...it has gotten but not as cold as it will be on Wednesday...that will be snow pants day and boots for a walk...Wondering if I should put leggings on to walk!!
Hope to be back later. Need to sort through all the paper work for Mom's new apt and I need to write a report for a staffing early Wednesday morning. Just need to make it to winter break!! 16 more days till I leave!! DD keeps adding to her list of things she wants me to bring, but fortunately they are small. Yesterday I went out and bought rain shoes...really cute and ankle high...Got them at DSW on sale and after coupon for $15. I bought them a size smaller as my size was rubbing against my leg when I walked in the store...I spent so much time, way too much time trying to figure out which ones to buy and now wondering if I should get my size, the bigger ones!!!
-
Well, the snow that has been missing us, didn't miss us this time. By the time I got home from school, snow was pouring from the sky & the roads were getting slippery.....so, I stayed home & did an hour with The Firm girls instead of venturing out again. Tomorrow could be interesting, the interstate we are on is always closed for 200 miles AND the wind is supposed to pick up........YIKES!
-
We had snow this morning, with more to come. Just got in a nice walk and actually saw the moon shining!
Loving the way your kitchen came out, Ruth!!! Much brighter and really nice new appliances. Envy you the fridge.
Weekend was mostly work but did manage to squeeze in three good runs over 3 days. - Claire
-
Cheryl: Great picture of you and your 2 hunks!
Ruth: Love your kitchen! Everything looks so new and shiny. I bet you are enjoying your breakfast table.
Karen: Hope your mother's move goes smoothly.
Lots of snow is falling but not here. We have much needed rain. Was able to walk/run before it started.
-
Ruth, stay safe! Do they ever close schools by you? The temps are dropping here and snow is in the forecast. It was COLD when I walked almost 2 hours ago..I think the low tonight is predicted to be 15, so it will be a cold walk in the morning. Even colder Wednesday morning....Time to get out the long down coat!! I have snow pants if need be....I feel so much better when I walk outside...Another day at work that I didn't get a mid day walk and ate lunch in the car driving between schools!
Still trying to sort through the paperwork needed for mom to move.....I'm excellent at putting things off that I don't want to do, or that are frustrating!! and I guess this falls into that category! Just wait till I have to get rid of 3/4 her clothes on Sunday. She won't be happy even though she doesn't wear them. I tried to sign up for an online account with social security, but I don't have the information and I tried a few times to have them send the log in information but not the right info so they locked the account! I will try to ask Mom tomorrow but I doubt she will remember!! Today I went over with her new vacuum and she kept asking me to repeat myself and then almost cries asking me not to yell at her. I told Mom that if she can't hear me, I need to raise my voice so she can hear. She denies that she has a hearing problem. Its either hearing or processing and she needs it repeated a few times. If I could cry, I would be bawling my eyes out!!
16 days....but whose counting!!!
-
Hugs, Karen.
It has to be really bad for them to call school off; we shall see what morning brings.
-
Love your new kitchen, Ruth!
Went to Pilates for Back Problems again yesterday evening --- my 5th time (since bc) and I already feel less spasm/more mobility --- can touch the floor with my fingertips again!
And just did 30 min on our exercise bike, for the first time in months. This group is good for me --- reading about everybody else's tons of exercise makes me feel lazy if I don't do anything.
-
I know! Group Guilt is good .
Snow Day here. I am going to exercise right now so I can sit around all the rest of the day drinking coffee and reading a book!
-
Worked out yesterday and I am thinking of doing another one today at some point. So far since I started working out I have lost 14 lbs. over two months.
-
Wow, Mommy, that is great.
Spent an hour doing laps in my happy place (the pool at my gym) on Sunday....the pool heater had been broken but it appears to be fixed now, just in time for me to get into it again...I actually prefer swimming in the winter when walking in the dark and cold of am or pm is less appealing, and when my reward can be ten minutes in the hot tub or sauna (not that it gets cold here by the standards of North Dakota or Canada or Colorado...to give you an idea, the low tonight is supposed to hit 33F, and we are debating whether that means we need to cover up our orange tree :-))
Saturday and Monday did long walks.
Retirement is coming up. Will be glad when I have more flexibility about when I exercise each day.

Thanks Octo

Holy Cow, Mommy, that is fantastic!
An hour of toning with Denise Austin, 30 minutes on the treadmill, AND I cleaned the house. It is still blowing like crazy. The interstate is now closed down for 300 miles!!!!!!
-
Went to a pilates class today!! I am 7 weeks post BMX and this was my first time back. Kept putting it off worried about foobs falling out or could I actually do the class or too many well meaning comments, etc....turned out it was all good.
Hi Mommyof2
-
Congratulations Mommy that is an achievement to be really proud of. Great job Poppy on getting back into the swing of things. my goodness Ruth that storm must have really hit hard don't envy the shovel and sculpting that will have to go on, pet Patoo is quietly laughing to herself down there in Florida.
Can finally report some exercise, tonight went to Body Flow - it was nice to feel all the stretching of my tired old muscles. -
May do another one today.
-
Well the workout I planned is not going to happen because my left knee is protesting.
-
Well, I had an interesting day. My street was plowed and school was two hours late, so I decided to join the Walking Women (the few who could get out of their house) for their walk (but alas, not breakfast). So we walked & when I was driving to school, I got stuck ON the railroad track! Fortunately I was rescued by several pickups full of burly men with shovels. OMG!!!!! I went to Zumba tonight. We are now under another blizzard watch, so we shall see what tomorrow brings.
-
hi all and welcome Poppy. Ruth I saw blizzard in ND and thought of you. OMG stuck on RR tracks, scary!
The WWW lady on the L is the one I thought I recognized from your Pound class. :-)
7th inning stretch breaks every afternoon so far this week. Artic cold is here so def no walking outside.
-
Great power walk this evening as well as early this morning. The morning walk was so peaceful with the fresh snow. I'm not sure how cold it was this morning but tonight was in the single digits. I just bundled up in my snow pants, heavy coat and winter boots.....I much prefer being outside to walking in the mall which I did yesterday morning. Tomorrow morning might be sub zero!! Today I walked as soon as I got up, then cooled down and showered before work. Will do the same tomorrow. DH has been in S. Florida for work since Monday night...he gets home mid day tomorrow...boy is he in for a rude awakening...it will be a cold walk from the terminal to his car!!
Ruth, how scary to get stuck on the RR tracks. So glad you were rescued by several burly men!! A friend of mine from here at bco, her son is a Freshman at the University of North Dakota and he too had a snow day yesterday.
My insomnia is kicking back in...I was doing well for a few years getting 6 hours sleep but now I'm down to 4 to 5 hours and that's with 0.5mg of Xanax. May have to ask the doc for something stronger.
Sweet dreams and stay warm!!
-
Karen, I am a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota!! Whoo Hoo! I have piles of relaxation CDs & a backup bottle of Ambien in my possession at all times! A girl needs her beauty sleep!
I see the rural buses are two hours late but school starts at the normal time tomorrow. I will have to get up early and SLIDE down the hill
-
Brisk walk in the park yesterday, and attending our local breast cancer exercise class this evening
-
Supposed to get some measurable snow on Sunday thru Monday.
-
M0mmyof2, good that your hard work is getting results! Off to teach tonight, learning new release and shopping for almost 18 year old and Christmas. Anyone know about this http://healingboobies.com/options/ ?
-
Thanks and I have lost an additional pound.
-
Ladies from up north, I don't know how you survive the winters. Two weeks ago it was 80 down here. This morning, the wind chill was below 30. At least it felt like it. Going down into low 20s tonight and tomorrow night and Dh and I are going up into the mountains for a 1-night mini-break on Saturday. When we booked it we weren't counting on the arctic blast. We'll be hiking for exercise so I hope I have enough layers.

walked yesterday and today, and today had the extra fun of navigating down (which is the worst, because I have bad knees) three flights of stairs in our building following a fire alarm. The good news: it happened at 4:30 so I used it as an excuse to leave work just a bit early.
We don't get snow here but it did rain most of the day, which is always welcome in California. I don't mind walking in the rain...
