Nipple discharge

Hello everyone, Can I ask a question please? When I was doing my breast exam last night I gently squeezed my nipples, the left was fine but the right nipple had really thick white discharge and quite a lot too. Then I squeezed again and it was blood, about 7/8 drops , then again and it was like water. And when I showed husband is was like water again but blood tinged colour. It's only when I squeeze. There's no pain, lump, rash, itching etc just this discharge. From one duct on one nipple.I'm not due period for another 20 (35 day cycle) days, im not ovulating, not pregnant and haven't been for 9 years. I'm not on any contraception either. I went to doctor today and I've been referred to breast clinic. Any ideas? Thank you x

    To my knowledge...

    Most concerning:

    -spontaneous discharge

    -single duct

    Least concerning:

    -discharge only when squeezed

    -multiple ducts

Your issue is probably benign but better to get it checked just in case.

    when was your last mammogram?

I had similar issues (spontaneous first time) and it was dismissed by my doc. I went for mammogram anyway since I was overdue and they found 3 calcifications in that breast but deemed them benign. 18 months later I had 3 tumors in same area. Not saying, just saying. That's my experience.

After diagnosed I mentioned this again and they (different doc) still said it is not usually significant. So it sounds like it isn't a reliable symptom on its own. But I did want to share because it happened to me.

Please don't read doom and gloom into this. Just proceed with vigilance. :)

I've never had a mammogram, I'm too young at 31.

Thank you for your response, I'm sure it is nothing to worry about, given the fact the discharge has now stopped.

    Hope your doing well x

Well today I found a lump but not in my breast, it's about 3 inches below my collarbone.. a couple inches above where my actual breast starts ( hope that makes sense) I don't know if we have glands or lymph nodes in this area so no idea of it's a lump or just a swollen lymph node/gland, if that makes sense. It's moveable and about 1cm in size and it's round shaped so I know it's not a typical 'cancer shape' lump. What do u think? x

I think you need to go to the doctor. There is no way we can guess what is going on with you. Let us know what you find out.

I developed a discharge while waiting (due to an office error) for my biopsy. It was spontaneous, tiny, blood, and found only on the same spot on the inside of my bra maybe every other day, or once a day. That is, one duct. Yours sound nothing like it. Neither does your lump. Glad you will check it out, seems the 2 might be connected but not a malignant cancer, based on my experience.

    Best!
