Hormone therapy reduces cancer's susceptibility to chemo?

I read this here on bco in an article under Research News.

So if we take our Tamoxifen and then get a recurrence, chemo would not be much help?

I understand that chemo works best on cells that are dividing fastest, so it makes sense that since the hormone receptor cancer is being deterred the chemo wouldn't be as effective, but what then do they do if we have a recurrence? Is there anything they can do at that point?

That is interesting. But I'm pretty sure that once you stop taking tamoxifen, and the drug clears out of your body (which may take some months), then there would be no more interference?
