Done wih Arimidex and still hot flashing

Finished up 30 days ago after completing five years on Tamoxifen and another five on Arimidex. I have been having hot flashes for ten years. Up to 20 plus a day and night sweats too. I was hoping to have these go away or at least lessen but they seem to be worse now. I had a total hysterectomy at 40 and I'm sure that plays a part but 10 years is long enough.

Please tell me they will go away soon.

    I have been on Arimidex for 2 years. While my side effects are not that bad, I do have hot flashes, dryness, and increased aches. I recently asked my MO if when I go off Arimidex I should expect these side effects to go away. He said "I know you want me to be truthful with you, and the answer is no".

    I think Arimidex makes us feel prematurely old. By the time we go off the drug, we are "old" and have the symptoms that go along with aging. My mom and aunts all suffer from hot flashes and none of them are on Arimidex, they are just older ladies with reduced estrogen.

    Thanks for your honesty debiann. Definitely not the answer I was hoping for.It just seems crazy that the hot flashes are actually worse now. I have all the other issues you mentioned too. The joint pain is a lot better now that Arimidex is out of my system.
