    Good Evening everyone-

I have posted on this site several times before and everyone has been so helpful, so hear I go again. I'm getting close to my next phase of treatment. I just completed 30 "rounds" of radiation and previously my BS had recommended Tamoxifin. I did things a little backwards as I met with my surgeon prior to the RO or MO, as I had discovered my own lump. My PCP had referred me to the surgeon and he was the head of surgical oncogology at the Cleveland clinic, which is about 1 1/2 hours away.

I only met the MO once, nice guy, put I'm not attached to him per say. So I have decided to go to a MO closer to home. I meet with him in two weeks.

I'm extremely nervous to start tamox. Due to the side effects. I'm 38 years old and pre-menopausal. Prior to my dx and for the last 10 years I have been on anxiety medication including Effexor, Ativan, and Ambien for anxiety induced insomnia. I take this medications daily.

I'm am less worried about the physical side effects and more of the "emotional" side effects.

As anyone been previously dx with anxiety and then taken the tamox. Can you please let me know how it worked for you.

    Thanks so much

Effexor is recommended to help with the hot flashes you get with tamox. I had no problems with it. I take Xanax as needed and had no issues.

I know lots of us worry about the hormone inhibitors. You can always change your mind or switch brands. It's your body.

Good luck with the new MO.
