Dose Dense Taxol

I completed dose dense AC last week and didn't have too bad a time with it. I'm nervous about Taxol though which starts next Monday. It seems that most people have weekly infusions. Mine will be every two weeks and I'm really worried about side effects. My MO said she's not worried about neuropathy because I don't have any neurological issues but they will adjust as necessary. But I've read that some people have bad side effects on the weekly dose, which I assume isn't as strong as the bi-weekly dose

I'd really love to hear feedback from anyone who has info on dose dense Taxol.

    I'm interested in some answers as well. I've got AC#3 this week and will be starting dose dense Taxol on 12/28. Thanks for asking this question!

    I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant - it did not slow me down at all.. Did 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant and was completely and utterly EXHAUSFED the entire time. I did start having more energy a week after last Taxol even though I started Rads that day and kept feeling more back to 'me' daily.

    I found that Taxol was a little easier than the A/C and I had much more energy. I was on a biweekly treatment regimen. I experienced some joint pain but that might be attributed to the Neupogen I was taking. As far as neuropathy goes, I've got some tingling in the tips of some of my fingers and toes but it hasn't been painful. I'm now 3 weeks out of chemo and the symptoms are lessening. I'm just waiting for my hair to start coming back in!

    DD taxol is not a problem at all. I just finished and I had very few SEs and I'm 67! Most big centers are doing the DD, the more that goes in at once the better the outcome

    I found dose dense taxol so much worse than the AC. Every infusion my eye area would develop a rash burn and swell, all my muscles would ache, my bones felt as though they had been broken, stomach ache, constipation and mild neuropathy to my fingertips and a soggy feeling to my feet. I would be completely out of action for about a week each time and would perk up with the steroid dose for the next round. At dose 3 I developed infusion reactions and had the dose at 1/4 speed which involved an overnight stay for the 10hr infusion. Last dose was 4 weeks ago. The aches and pains have mostly gone and my energy has improved 1000%. I still have a sore back, upset bowels, the mild neuropathy in my fingertips and feet and some pretty ordinary fingernails, some black stained and some white as if they are going to fall off any time now.

    Hopefully you are like the majority and finding it easier than AC. Still it has to be done. Although I think if I were ever to recur I would strongly suggest they use an alternative to taxol as my body just really didn't like it.
