Is it possible to get mets during neoadjuvant chemo?

I believe it would be most unlikely since you have just been diagnosed as stage IIB. Do you know if there is any lymph involvement

Yes, MRI confirmed there is one. My ki-67 score is only 7.5% but my onc still wants me to do chemo first because of that one node involvement.

I have recently read that those who have metastasis were early stage to begin with. I believe the figure was 90-96%. So it would seem likely that metastasis occurs early. I have also read that if a tumor is going to metastasize then it will do it early. That is probably why I underwent neoadjuvant treatment.

I had two lymphs involved and a high grade cancer so neo adjuvant was the way forward. The pathology after surgery showed the tumors were all still active (no pathologic complete response). Rads followed to mop things up. I'm two years post treatment and on tamoxifen. And NED.

Research has shown that the results from adjuvant and neo adjuvant treatments are very similar. Hang in there, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
