"Abnormal Myeloma Profile" ???

Options

Was wondering if anyone ever had bloods tests that showed an abnormal myeloma profile? Got the results of tests I had done last week and they showed a higher than normal result in the gamma globulin zone. Normal range is 0.7 to 1.6. Mine were 1.8. The other indicators for myeloma were in the normal range. My Dr said there are no serious concerns yet. She said that approximately 10% of patients will go on to develop the disease. Still it's worrying me. We are going to retest in 3 months and if it's still elevated she will refer me to a Haematologist. My cholesterol was up a bit. Probably from the AI. My liver enzymes were also elevated. I'm not a drinker. Never have been so it's not alcohol related. Having an abdominal ultrasound on Monday to check for fatty liver or other causes. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks Donna.

What prompted the test? I'm not too familiar with that one. Hoping follow up tests are favorable

Thanks KBeee. I started seeing a new GP a few weeks ago. My old one left town. I had been having some back pain so she ordered a CT scan and bloods. CT didn't reveal any bone lesions which was great. She wants to be diligent and back pain can be a symptom of Myeloma (as well as a stack of other diseases/conditions). She tested for a multitude of things and this came up.

Sorry you have to wait so long to retest. Hoping it all comes back with good results
