Hi all!

It was recently suggested that I report my location here while I search for a medical oncologist in my area who I "click with" more than the one I saw recently. Since I'll be monitored for the next five years with endocrine therapy along with my newly discovered osteoporosis-- it would be great to have a Dr. I connect with. If anyone knows a good endocrinologist in Pittsburgh, I'd love to hear about that too.

Have a great weekend all!

Marcell

I'm in the east suburbs of Pittsburgh. I have a fabulous MO. He is with UPMC, as are all my doctors. If you're interested, let me know and I'll share more.

    Best wishes,

    Patti

    Hi Patti!

Thanks for responding! I'd love a recommendation for a good MO.

My insurance covers both UPMC and AHN physicians so a UPMC Dr. would work.

Feel free to leave the name here or in a private message.

    Have a great holiday!

    Hi Marcella,

I'm a few hours north of the city, but often come to Pittsburgh if my local onc wants a second opinion. I've seen Dr. Adam Brufsky at Magee's several times and have been very pleased with him.

Dr. Thomas Krivak at West Penn did my complete hyster and ovary removal this summer. I found him to be an excellent surgeon and I appreciated his bedside manner, but the hospital care at West Penn was terrible.

    Best wishes!

    Hi Carrie!

I'm also north of Pittsburgh but closer in Cranberry Township. Thanks so much for your recommendations. I had a great experience with my breast surgeon and radiation oncologist through Allegheny General but when I saw my medical oncologist, I felt letdown. She stared at her computer screen and didn't make any attempts at relating or supporting. She could have phoned it in. : (

I'm interested in a doctor who can help me sort through ongoing care issues given my unique health requirements, not "once size fits all" care.

I think getting through all the intricacies and stress of breast cancer requires more than the average doctor.

Thank you again and warmest wishes for a great Thanksgiving

My MO is Rajesh Sehgal at 412.856.7110. I cannot say enough about how kind and caring he is. I see him in the Monroeville ofice, right off the turnpike. He may have another office closer to you though.

    Happy Thanksgiving and best wishes!

    Thank you so much, Patti.

I'm debating seeing a UPMC MO given my care has been with Allegheny. It seems the best MO docs are with UPMC though. Your doctor sounds like he has the qualities I'm missing from my MO.

It would be great to have anMO Dr. who is kind and caring since they seem to carry the ball forward.

I hope you have a great holiday season!

    Warmest..

    Marcella
