Many breast cancer survivors worry that their breast cancer may come back. Recurrence has puzzled scientists and health care providers, recognizing that it can suddenly reappear, often with a vengeance, months or years after treatment is over. Now, researchers have found that dormant tumor cells might have become latent because they cannibalized--basically ate--the body's own stem cells.

Wow, very strange. I think we'll hear more of this subject.

My wife's cancer has returned after one year NED on Tamoxifen. Several small places in the spine. They are too small to biopsy so her oncologist is letting them grow a bit. He has to biopsy as my wife had 3 different types of breast cancer: ER+ grade 1 100% estrogen, ER+ grade 3 30% estrogen and triple negative metaplastic BC.

My DH is a big fan of the starve before chemo theory which was being talked about on some Podcasts he listened to. Interesting to read that the cannibal cells are resistant to that regimen.
