Treating IBC as 3rd BC recurrence.

saw the specialist today.
he believes it is lymphedema of breast. he is sending me to physio specialist. no biopsy..no breast mri. it's just 'the vibe'. :-D :-D.
he believes as this is the 7th week since the symptoms started, that my breast would look very different now if I had IBC. he says all the symptoms can be explained by lymph build up in the breast. i should feel ecstatic, but I don't..it is weird. I need to sort myself out. I guess when I can SEE that LE treatment eases it, then i will do the happy dance.
One thing that bugs me, beside 1hour 45 min wait today...I tell him my breast is discolored..I show him all the photos across 6 week period. He insists it doesn't look discolored unless I scratch it. I do not try and argue with him. I don't know if it even matters. However, it plants a seed of doubt in me whether he really is on top of this. (darn.) and..why am I going back to him in 2 weeks if he is so darn sure? (see...hello my friend doubt!)
so..
I take his opinion as gospel, as he has a lot of experience,
I get treatment for it. I see if it helps.
I go back to him in 2 weeks. If I still have doubt, then I will pay to see my breast surgeon who is in the private system. It would be good to get a 2nd opinion.
thanks for listening.

Wel my Dr. Just called with the good news. There was no finding of breast cancer in the biopsy. The sample did show dilated lymphatic spaces. So now my question for that is why?
I still have so many questions. I asked the Dr. To email the pathology report to me. He suggested that I consult with my dermatologist.
I still have concerns about a false negative because he only took one biopsy.
Could I be having lymphedema of the left breast only from radiation therapy?
So many questions,
Nancy

I am going to a private lymphedema treatment clinic today. Hoping for some relief.

when I saw the lymphedema specialist yesterday, she said it was unusual to be so itchy with it, and also surprised that the breast had hardened in only seven weeks. However, she prescribed a special bra, and gave me some self massage and exercise regimes. she also recommended I go to the clinic at the cancer hospital for ongoing care as it is free. she asked if i was seeing the cancer dr. there again and I said yes in a couple of weeks. she said that was good. (!!!!!!!) this is ..I don't know..something feels a bit off. disappointed she did not do any manual decompression therapy on it either. (she is flat out, and in high demand.) I badly need some treatment. I know a great threapist, but as she is not also a physio, it costs a fortune with minimum private health rebate. grrr.
