hi,

I have done my best with preventive approaches but a couple days ago took a bad fall on my at risk arm. I put my sleeve on and am trying to elevate it and do what I understand of the mld self massage but my arm and hand are starting to swell.

Any ideas?? :(

No ideas other than what you've already done. Have you had it checked to make sure it's not normal swelling related to the injury or broken even? It sounds like you'll need to get your therapist to have a look, get it under control and teach you the proper self massage technique

See a Dr. to be sure there isn't an injury that needs medical intervention - then see your LET.

I've succeeded in doing 2 'good' injuries to my LE arm - first slipped on a dog bone in our hall landed on posterior with hands behind me - that resulted in surgery to put wrist back together. The 2nd was last winter when I succeeded in causing a small fracture under arm and a small tear in rotator cuff - hard to explain exactly what happened but simply put I did it by hanging onto a handle to prevent a VERY bad slip.
