Anyone have mastectomy with benign findings?

I got a surgical 2nd opinion today because my original surgeon wants to "keep looking" after a Birads 5, core biopsy with atypical lobular proliferation. My mass continues to grow....was last measured as 4.6 cm. This 2nd surgeon said "I recommend a mastectomy. You are already disfigured from the mass so a mastectomy will give you peace of mind and the opportunity for reconstruction" My question is: "Has anyone here opted for a prophylactic mastectomy with subsequent benign findings and how did you feel about it?
