Twohobbies ..What beautiful photos. !!! They definately have the ' Wow " factor !!!
Angela ..what a great idea using them as a slide show ..if anyone ever gives me flowers I always take a photo of them straight away ..So I can keep them for ever ☺

My Bush Orchid's are coming out in bloom ..I love their long sprays of colour ..
-
Lucy55, The garden is stunning.
-
Lucy- just wow on the orchids!
-
Lucy, So nice to see green and blooms as ours is all turning brown for the winter. Your garden is lovely.
-
Lucy,
We may just have to depend on your beautiful pictures to get the rest of us through our fall and winter. It is mighty dreary already in Alabama!
Best to all of you!

We are getting our hard freeze tonight. I said goodbye to the gardens today and said "see ya next spring." Sob........
-
A weirdly warm fall so far in Michigan, so we haven't had a killing frost quite yet, but enough of a chill that most of my garden's shut down for the winter. Except for the chard! Criminy. But I've been collecting the seeds from my overenthusiastic morning glory vines. About a pint so far.
-
I agree that Lucy may have to tide us over. Thursday it was 70 degrees here. Last night we had gale force winds bring in freezing temps and sleet. I have brought in my hibiscus and mandevilla trying to save something. sigh.
Love the orchids, Lucy. I also see you have a Christmas cactus. it was motivating me to get one. I used to have a beautiful one.
-
Lucy, Is the rock mulch to save water? It's very attractive. It's 49F here and raining.
-
We're expecting "cold" weather to come in tonight, so I decided to take a field trip to Bellingrath Gardens for my last chance to see their annual mum exhibit. My timing was unusually good for me; workers were just beginning to remove the mums to make room for their holiday light show. Lucy, I took your advice and shot lots of pictures so that the mums will be mine forever! I'm attaching one of the shots, along with couple of other pictures of my favorite spots in the gardens. I usually go alone so that I can roam around and take pictures in my own time, but I kept thinking about all of you and wished that you were there with me...

angela...love you pics of the garden paths because I can imagine myself going along the path and discovering something new around each hidden curve
-
Beautiful gardens Angela. I visited them as a child.
Had a fun night at our Botanical Gardens this past week.

I just love this time of the year when all the Ponsiana Trees are out in bloom ...To me they are a sign that Christmas is on its merry way 🙂 We have a Ponsiana ..it is 6 years old this year , but didn't flower ..I was hoping it would ..oh well ..maybe next year ..
Angela ..I love to come and walk those paths with you ..Just beautiful. !
Scottie ..Ahh...Botanical gardens and Christmas displays ..A match made in Heaven 🙂
-
Gorgeous trees Lucy. I had to look them up and unfortunately it probably wouldn't survive where we live. Too big to. Still, I love seeing the different foliages from everyone's locales.

Lucy- I LOVE that house in the upper photo, very modern and cool. And the trees, just beautiful. Wish I could fly there tonight, we are having wicked storms with rounds of hail here this evening. Eeek!
-
Such pretty pictures! Gorgeous botanic gardens, Scottie and Angela.
Lucy, I thought, oh that ponsiana tree looks kind of like a flamboyant tree - then I googled it and its the same thing. They call them flamboyant trees in the Carribbean, and they bloom late May or June. So pretty.
-
Lucy beautiful tree, Australia is on my bucket list to visit
. Hopefully next year.
-
Twohobbies ..That very interesting about the Flamboyant tree ..I've never heard it called that ..but it's a good name because it definitely is a flamboyant tree. !!!🙂
Lookforward ..which part of Australia are you thinking of coming too ? I'm in Queensland ...near Brisbane ..maybe we could catch up if you're coming this way ..
-
I always enjoy the pics and chitchat. ;o)
This pic was taken from Facebook.
Pansies are so resilient.

Our view from the kitchen.

Teka,
Absolutely gorgeous!
Hopefully this will be just the beginning of a string of snowscapes that will replace the beautiful fall colors that all of you have posted.
I'm keeping an eye on the camellia buds around town, and will hopefully be able to share some good photos.
Best wishes to all of my fellow gardeners!
Angela

Angela,
I'm looking forward to seeing pics of camellia blooms!

Teka, We have enough snow in the mountain passes to open the ski resorts. Should probably be prepared for rocks though. The weather channel predicted snow in Seattle next week. Ha! It never snows when predicted. All our snow storms in the city are a surprise and paralyze the city. People laugh at our gridlock - until they visit and see 17% grade hills on downtown streets. I love the way snow looks, but it would be hard to shovel all winter long.
-
We are supposed to get our first snow tomorrow. I don't mind because it now has turned truly cold, leaves are gone so everything is pretty much gray - gray sky, gray bare trees.
Angela, I remember the first time I saw Camelias blooming in January. I grew up in Chicago and we had moved to SC. I couldn't believe anything would be blooming so early. I had to look twice when I saw flowers.
-
Christmas Eve morning here ...Just want to pop in and wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas..I have so enjoyed this thread ..and all your wonderful pictures .
I bought myself an early Christmas present yesterday ..I just love succulents and cacti , and I couldn't help myself 😃 Just need my babies to grow up now. !!
-
Lucy- you are ahead of us as always! Wishing you many blessings this holiday season!
Love the succulents. Great gift to one's self!
-
Happy Holidays to all! While my family sleeps, I have been on pinterest enjoying various interesting gardening items. Fruit trees in containers, upside down gardens, plants that clean the air, teacup gardens. This is how I get through winter!
Love your gift to yourself, Lucy. I adore cactus and succulents too!
-
Merry Christmas everyone. My son bought me an aerogrow indoor garden , I will be out next week looking for for herb seeds .
-
Merry Xmas. I got a lovely Xmas box from a family member with three amaryllis that is probably going to be spectacular in another month or so! Will post when it is all in bloom. Can't wait to see the colors of the flowers!
