Here's what cheezed me off today

Rohanna, Hugs for the whole family. It's so much harder when they're young.
-
Rohanna, I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew. It's so sad to lose someone so young. What a crappy disease!
-
Thanks, guys. The funeral was yesterday. Just want to crawl under a blanket and come out in the Spring. Don't feel like dealing with anything.
-
Just remember to be kind to yourself.
-
Well, here is what really cheezed me off today. I was at my regular Beauty Salon having my hair colored. I've been going there for years and years for hair and nails and am good friends with the owner and my nail tech. They were telling me about a client in her 30's who had used one of the cold cap therapies and ended up waking up with all of her hair on her pillow one morning. Of course she was heart broken. We were discussing the cost and how labor intensive it is. A lady, not even included in the conversation....said She just needed someone to shave her head and wear a wig...no problem. I said to her...You just need to shut the hell up unless you know what you are talking about! The stupid woman then again said ..Nothing to it..Just wear a wig! I about came out of my chair as I yelled at her, I told you to shut the hell up unless you have lost your hair.
Not another word out of her, but I could hardly sit still. As if hair is all we have to face! What about this wonderful 30 year old staying alive, you stupid bitch!
I guess this really cheezed me off today
-
Stupid bitch indeed! I can't believe people can be so insensitive and uninformed. I'd like to be around when karma kicks her butt! And good for you for letting her know that her a$$ should be jealous of the s&%t that comes out of her mouth!
-
That stupid twit needed to be told to shut up
-
OK, I haven't been cheezed off in a while but steam is coming out of my ears. I was across the street welcoming our new neighbors when a woman I used to work with jogged by. She stopped and butted into the conversation by asking if I was working. When I explained to her that I was unable to work after 3 surgeries in 3 years and the peripheral neuropathy that had resulted in me being able to barely take care of myself, she said "Oh good. I need someone to take care of my mother 5 days a week. I could pay you $20" WHAT? This former co-worker never called or visited one time. She lives 4 houses down and never said Boo to me. I saw her at the car wash a couple of months ago and she acted like I had leprosy. She doesn't work and has 3 grown children and a husband, and she wants me to watch her mom for 20 bucks a week. Did she not hear anything I said? Does she think recovering from cancer means you have lots of free time? Did she think I was going to buy a BMW with her lousy $20? Can you believe it? I said I wasn't physically able to take care of her mother (who is 3 times bigger than me and has dementia) and she said "Oh you would just have to help bathe her, feed her and help her to the toilet." WHAT? She said "Think about it and let me know." and happily jogged away. Tell you what "friend". When they sell snow cones in hell, I'll come help you out. Now I'm just waiting for her to call me. Keep bail money ready!!!!!
-
wow, what a bullshit crazy person. What nerve..and the. 20$. Lo
-
What a dip chit!!!!
-
Unbelievable nerve! I'm surprised your jaw didn't drop to your ankles. And $20?? Has she priced a babysitter these days? $20 an hour is more like it. Bail money at the ready.
-
Rohanna, Eff that twit!! How dare her try to pawn her mom off and for chump change! Those services that bitch is talking about would run her thousands per month. I know since I live it. Next time she even thinks about asking, you need to have a reply ready. How about "Why do you think I would want to wipe your mom's ass each day? It seems like something you would be perfect for?" Okay, I would be fuming too. Hope the steam settles soon. Breath in, breath out :-)
-
Thanks everyone. Keep that bail money ready because I'm just waiting for her to call! Rocky, your reply to her is perfect! I might add "But that would cut into my sitting on my ass eating bon bons time!" Or "How about I wipe your and the dog's butt at the same time?" But what I'll probably say is "Yeah, I'll give you the same help you gave me. NONE!" I don't care if I piss her off. Eff that twit! Some people are too stupid to be let out of the house! When she said the thing about $20, I stuttered something like "Oh no, what?" I was in shock. That moron said "No, no, I don't mind paying you that. It's costing us a fortune to care for her." What was she going to do with the savings? Buy new yoga pants for her buffalo behind? I'm gonna tell her off and block her number! Never mess with a cheezed off survivor!
-
tell her you wouldn't do it for $20 an hour
-
Or, if you don't want to tell her off, use Ms Manners phrase: I'm sorry. That's just impossible.
-
Do you think she meant $20 an hour? She must have, but really how insensitive to you!
-
Nope. She meant $20 for 6 to 8 hours for 5 to 6 days a week. $20 total. Can you believe it?! She needs to stop drinking the Kool Aid!
-
Okay, so I have to say it... What really cheezed me today, yesterday and really most of 2016... TRUMP! I have a beautiful daughter, I have good health care and I have a son, in college, on my health plan. My family comes first and the fact that our administration fought hard to make sure everyone was insurable is so important. We ALL have pre-existing conditions in BCO! No matter how you feel about Democrats, Obama made it so none of us could ever be turned down for insurance. Trump has already said repeal and replace. Well, repeal will equal non coverage for many and all of us at BCO would no longer be covered for ANYTHING relating to cancer. No meds paid for, no related check-ups, etc. That is the nature of a pre-existing condition. Insurance companies have always made it a point to NOT COVER your previous condition. It's expensive for them and it's all about money. Obama made sure the companies could not do this any longer.
Before my cancer, I had an ongoing condition and years ago that condition was excluded from my insurance. Sure I was covered at work, but my main illness was not. That means NO doctor visits for maintenance, NO medication for the condition and surely NO hospitalization should it have been needed. This is what the insurance companies were doing 25 years ago. It was scary, expensive and could end up costing someone their life savings.
People don't get how Obama set up the industry so that we didn't even have to talk about our pre-exisiting conditions. He made sure that everyone could have preventative health care such as a physical, mammos, paps and since women typically take care of themselves we benefited the most. Also, our children benefited since they were able to stay on our plans until 26 while they are either in college or figuring out their lives as young adults. Anyway, off my soap box. I'm too old to get out and protest so here is my forum as it has been since 2011!

Hi,
I am doing some research for an essay related to life post breast cancer treatment, I would be extremely grateful to anyone wiling to spend a few minutes answering my short survey.

Thank you in advance x

Perhaps you are unaware Rockym, but Trump has said he will keep pre-existing conditions and other features of Obamacare. They are just going to remove the shitty things like lack of competition. Let's not create false rumors ok? I supported Trump over Hillary... He's already removed the TPP which was huge and he's a proponent of Charter schools (HIllary would have killed them)... As for Medical Care... a lot of hysteria, very little facts.

Lisey, I couldn't care less who you support. I never said who I supported, but I am FAR MORE aware then you could every wrap your head around. Trump just said yesterday (note the date and time of my original post that you are replying to) he plans to keep the pre-existing and children at home features. When I posted this it was BEFORE he said a word. I am confident he will go back on everything that he ran for and his current interviews show he has already begun. His big huge keep them out wall is now being reduced to a clothesline with a drape. This is how liars work. They tell you one thing, get you to trust them and then do whatever the heck works for them. I am fine with him breaking all his promises as half the country was against his ideas anyway. However, if you have medical coverage that's terrific, but there are those who are struggling and scared. I will always speak out for those who are having a tougher time so welcome to my "cheezed" group.
-
I'm sorry Rockym, but even before he was elected he said he would keep some features. Did you read the actual post? In anycase if you watched ANY of the primary debates, Trump was very clear he'd keep the pre-existing conditions clause on any new system devised.
I get you aren't in touch with his promises earlier on, but I am... and just because you FELL for the biased medias reporting doesn't make it true....
http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Health_Care.htm
Q: If Obamacare is repealed & there's no mandate for everybody to have insurance, why would insurance companies insure somebody who has a pre-existing condition?
TRUMP: Well, I like the mandate. I don't want people dying on the streets. The Republican people, they don't want people dying on the streets, but sometimes they'll say "Donald Trump wants single payer."
Q: Will people with pre-existing conditions be able to get insurance?
TRUMP: Yes. Now, the new plan is good. It's going to be inexpensive. It's going to be much better for the people at the bottom, people that don't have any money. We're going to take care of them through maybe concepts of Medicare. Now, some people would say, "that's not a very Republican thing to say." That's not single payer, by the way. That's called heart. We gotta take care of people that can't take care of themselves.

_________________________________Q: Senator Rubio, you said that Mr. Trump thinks part of ObamaCare is pretty good. Which part?
RUBIO: The individual mandate. He said he likes the individual mandate portion of it; I don't believe that should remain there. We need to repeal ObamaCare completely and replace it with a system that puts Americans in charge of their health care money again.
TRUMP: I agree with that 100%, except pre-existing conditions, I would absolutely get rid of ObamaCare. I want to keep pre- existing conditions. It's a modern age, and I think we have to have it.
Q: The insurance companies say is that the only way that they can cover people with pre-existing conditions is to have a mandate requiring everybody purchase health insurance. Are they wrong?
TRUMP: I think they're wrong 100%. Look, the insurance companies take care of the politicians [and vice-versa]. The insurance companies are making an absolute fortune. Yes, they will keep preexisting conditions, and that would be a great thing.

Just keep telling yourself he's a great person and maybe you'll actually believe yourself. You can quote till the cows come home and it won't make any difference to me. The man is a true blue liar and he cannot take back his words. I will not spend time discussing this with you at any length because my time is more valuable. I have real people to take care of and a beautiful daughter who is repulsed by Trump. Fortunately, I surround myself with loving, honest and compassionate people so the tension behind his win will fade and as he continues to do the opposite of what his words are, then better for all.
Trump does not represent anything or anybody I know and we do not stand with him or his past words. Feel free to quote him and find anything you like on any media you think suits you. If you feel he represents you that is your choice. That pretty much tells me about the type of person you are. This has been our place for venting over the years and we have used this thread to help us through our BC. You can now take your arguement elsewhere. Good luck with your continued health and be well and that I say honestly.
-
The sky is falling approach is not helpful to anyone. Give the guy 100 days to show what he can do. If you watch the news you can see he is not going to do anything to the ACA but make it better and more affordable. Show your "beautiful" daughter a good example. Hysteria helps no one

As a this is a place to rant, I think I will rant against Trump. In the week I was given the news that I have a significant mass in my liver alongside a couple of other spots and my MO is convinced it's my BC returned or ano cancer, and the week I had a liver biopsy to confirm this, I and furious/pissed/angry I had to watch (I live in SoCal) the USA elect a snake oil salesman who will say anything if he thinks it will get him what he wants. Thanks for adding the cherry to the top of my already crap week, US electorate!
So you can gather I'm not a supporter but I'm neither liberal or republican, I am a social conservative who wishes politics would calm down and stop being so extreme. Without the change in the expectations of a polititions how on earth can someone come forward. I actually felt that Hilary Clinton was much more this type than how she was painted by DT and his campaign, and she would have definitely got my vote if I had one (I'm a legal alien)
However, there may be a glimmer of light - if we wait long enough DT will spin on his positions and could well end up back as a democrat after all! Hopefully in time for the ACA to be saved, for Healtcare to become more fair and comprehensive (seriously if you had the NHS you would be so much better taken care off - particularly if it had the money per patient that is spent in the USA), the environment is not abandoned, people's rights as who they identify are preserved, women's reproductive rights are not ambushed, and the world is not thrown into more conflicts. I felt the USA was quite 'great' already - and doesn't deserve to be thrown in reverse so violently.
Ok rant over. Sorry If I am showing too much candor - but these s$£t dx's can make a girl feel she has to speak her mind!
-
Are the rants over?
Ok, it's time to drink!
-
Ordinarily would love to join you gmmiph, but I'm giving my liver a little break. Cute baby!
-
Scwilly, gosh I hope your scans were just showing shadows or something other than cancer. I recall my doctors were very cautious the first couple of years and for you with triple neg. IBC, I am sure they've got your back. Yes, last week was rough for some of us. I am not a fan of the electoral college either and I can only think of how different our world would be if Gore wasn't pushed out. Many would be alive today who ended up dying for no justified reason. Of course then we may not have had Obama who was the polar opposite of Bush in his decisions, style grace, etc.
I grew up in Southern California and both the west and east coast are so different then other states. What a great country we would have if there was more acceptance of those who are different. I recall asking my mom about people who were gay in the 1970s and she said that finding loving was hard enough and that it's not important if it's male/male or female/female as long as they find love. That stuck with me and my upbringing was such that I went to school with all races and no one was better then the other. I also recall being the only Caucasian girl in my typing class that was probably 90% black. We were all friends and that is not only how I was raised, by how I have raised my children. I was also brought up with truth. My family didn't lie or bullshit each other. There were no family secrets or cheating/lying to move up in the world. My parents were always straight up and honest and that is what I expect of others. They showed me that is how we have success in life, so to hear lie after lie for over a year was sickening.
By the way, my husband is also a resident alien. He got his status from amnesty in the early 80s. He could have obtained his green card through our marriage, but back then if you could prove you had lived here for a certain number of years and contributed by paying taxes, etc. status was given. He never got his citizenship because he would joke that if we ever had to move back to Canada we could. It was funny how he brought up that topic from almost 30 years ago :-).
I agree there is a glimmer of light for exactly what you said about spin. Trump isn't even in the White House and already the health care issue that had me venting began to change a day or so after. His talk about the wall is now shifting to simply securing the borders and perhaps looking into some fence. Even female issues such as birth control and abortion are being back peddled. I am glad so far this is the case, but it doesn't change the fact the man is a liar, bully and all around poor example for our children. There are other ways in this country to get things done and they don't require bullshitting half the population only to peddle back.
The saddest thing is that so many people only wanted him as president as sort of an eff you to the other half. When they don't get all that was promised, my guess is they won't care because they didn't really care to begin with. They are going to go back to their lives where they blame others for their misfortune. They will turn back on their reality shows or perhaps watch Trump as their ultimate show. I feel many of these people never learned how to better themselves or to learn from others. I can tell you that I learned a lot about people over this year. Most of it has not been pleasant. Good luck with the liver issue and I hope the best for you. Come back and tell us you are well.
-
My vent today is about people who are alienating others by continuing to discuss politics. I voted for Trump, thanks to the bigotry and name calling, I'm not safe to even post here. I want to defend my voice and vote from the lies and mischaracterization, but what's the point.
I think for the safety of ALL the members in this community politics and especially attacks on Trump and his voters be stopped. -
Lisey,
I second the motion!
