    Hi ladies I wanted to start new topic just about phase 2 diep. I had unilateral diep reconstruction. Thursday I will be having revision of left reconstructed breast including fat grafting,left nipple areolar reconstruction and right mastopexy and breast reduction on non cancer breast. I would really like to hear from ladies who had unilateral. What was your recovery time. Did you spend night in hospital.

    I had bilateral DIEP and three revisions. The last revision included the the nipples and areolas with some lipsuction. I did not stay overnight with any of the revisions.

    One thing I noticed was that following each revision I had a weird emotional reaction. Even though the appearance improved each time, it was something new to get used to, a change, a loss of the familiar. Plus seeing more stitches and feeling knocked down again was hard. It seems to take weeks till the anesthesia is out of your system and you feel energetic and normal again.

    I'm 6 weeks out from my final revision. It's great to have nipples again, although they are kind of long yet. They will be getting a little nip in a short procedure in the office in January .
