Nervously waiting

i found a lump on Oct 11th (my anniversary ) went to my dr the next day, had an appointment for a mammogram with sono 5 days later....had a biopsy this past Friday, they also saw something on a lymphnode on that side, I did have a cough/cold so I'm hoping that's why... I'm a nervous wreck...my mom is a 30year survivor and my sister is a 2 year survivor, I'm just so scared...this year has been horrible so far, my dad passed away in January and I just cant even imagine this year getting worse. I'm trying to stay positive but its so hard. My husband keeps telling me to prepare for the worst so I'm not so upset all the time...i am 46, I have 3 young kids (11,7,4) I should know results of biopsy Mon or Tues....ugh!

    HI Becky

    I was diagnosed at 45 and have a young child too. I know it's scary but if you are diagnosed there are many good and effective treatments. Onco type and mammaprint now exists and helps determine if chemo will be effective or not for your cancer. If you know your BIRADS score from Mammo that will help determine % that what they saw is potentially cancer. That sometimes can make you more nervous. I remember with my situation, I had my normal Mammo, they saw something , did a US and Biopsy all the same day. It was scary. But here I am 6 years later and doing well. The people here are amazing you will have great support for your questions. Don't be surprised if they tell you over the phone. My Biopsy was a Thursday, I was told that Monday on the phone. Wishing you well and keep us posted.

    Try to do something for you while you wait. Watch funny movies, go to lunch, Yoga, massage, walk, what ever your thing is. Try to keep your mind busy.

    I found a lump and am waiting on a call (hopefully tomorrow) to schedule mammogram and ultrasound. very nervous too. What kind of info did they give you after your mammogram? Did they tell you that you needed a biopsy then?
