Post surgery ore than dcis
Yesterday I had bmx and diep. The breast surgeon took out 5 sentinel nodes. She found one was hard meaning I don't just have dcis as originally found. The plastic surgeon still did the diep but now I have to do radiation. Final diagnosis com in g Nov 7. I'm just so hurt and sad. I don't know what to do. Sorry I am on pain meds right now.

Sorry natstar. That is a nasty surprise. I'd be (and was) devastated. Someone told me I was grieving after my surprise dx - grieving for a life free from worrying about stupid breast cancer. Perhaps you are grieving too. For now just rest. Try not to jump to the worst case scenario, chances are that would be needless worry. Focus on healing for now. Cry, yell, sleep, whatever you feel like doing. When you are feeling a bit stronger just focus on one step at a time. You aren't always going to be so scared and hurt. Time will help a lot.

So sorry to hear this. My bmx is Nov 7 for dcis and I've been worried about the same thing. I agree with farmerlucy, get your rest for now so you can heal. Take care!
-
thanks everyone I'm going home today. Feeling more like myself. Just waiting for pathology results

I'm new to this forum and will probably have my bmx in Nov (Plastics consultation is Nov 2)..... but it's encouraging to hear that 4 days post surgery you are feeling better. I am so not looking forward to this!!!!
I had my breast biopsy Sept 28th (it's small, ER+PR+HER2-). Today I went to Walmart and picked up a few things from the "what to bring to the hospital" list. So thankful for that list- I just would not have known what to pack!!!!
-
Nastar, glad to hear you're going home and feeling better.
Welcome Quiltspice! I was diagnosed on Sept 29 and am having my bmx next Monday. I had been doing well but got emotional today. I think it's starting to hit me. Hope I can get through this week at work. I have also been picking up things from the list and agree it's so helpful.

Caroline- I pray that all goes smoothly for you next Monday. Will you have reconstruction at the same time? I am also working right up until surgery......... would rather not, but need all the PTO I can get for the 2 months off post surgery. I think the pre-surgery countdown wait is stressful. I keep telling myself...... Breath...... breath slow.
-
Quiltspice, yes I am having reconstruction at same time. I am also not looking forward to it. Stinks that all of us here are going through this. Good luck with your appointment and let us know when your surgery is scheduled.
-
Caroline- Hope this weekend is restful and peaceful, and your surgery/recovery is as smooth as can be!
I met with the PS and I'm going with a bmx and muscle sparing free TRAM. Waiting now to have a vessel mapping CT and looks like surgery will be late Nov, early Dec.
Jesus, Your name is Powerful...... We appeal to You, because you are mighty and love us and care about us. I pray against anxiety and fear as each of us goes into surgery and/or treatment. I pray for Your Grace and Peace to be poured into the women here as we each walk this path.... You are with us and we Thank you Lord.
Sending hugs and prayers....

Thanks. Came home yesterday. Pretty sore, I think it's from the expanders. Surgery went well though. Nodes were fine.

Caroline- So glad to hear everything went well....... especially the nodes!!! I hope you are able to rest..... and your healing goes quickly!!!
