hello ladies,

My name is Alexandra and my mom got diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2016. I have joined the forum because you guys give a lot of hope and a lot of topics are very informative! I wish my mom knew English so that she could participate in the community but unfortunately she doesn't.

My mom got diagnosed in June durin mastography for cancer. Her ultra shall at this point has shown that the cancer is around 2.5 cm. The previous mastography was 1.5 years ago. The biopsy back then came up with er+ pr+ her2 -.

When we learned about this we searched and found one of the top breast surgeon's in my country. She examined her and she told us that the cancer should be around 4 to 5 cm. The next day my mom did all the scans, which came out clear and next day directly to chemo. AC 4 cycles and then 4 cycles of taxol.

September:

My mom had her first surgery 2 weeks ago, lumpectomy. Unfortunately she didn't have any clear margins so she got now a mastectomy. The biopsy results shocked us:

My mom is triple negative, she had six out of 11 cancerous nodes, not a good response to chemo apparently and lobular invasive cancer.

My mom is devastated. The only good things is that the ki67 has dropped to 1-5% from 17%. According to the oncologist the cancer is not basal like (because of small ki67) but acting more like luminal and that is grade 2.

Oncologist mentioned that she will take the drug for hormone receptors in any case and most probably xeloda. He has also mentioned platinum but he doesn't think it helps.

Any other lady that her different type diagnosed before chemo? We have now asked for a reexamination of the samples

Alexandra, i'm sorry to hear what you and your mother are going through, but i think you are amazing for doing this research for her.

Last week my oncologist said there is a 15% chance my pathology report after surgery will not match the info from my biopsy sample. So it is not uncommon for things to change once all the information is in.

    Best of luck with everything
