Great news, Blinkie!
-
Busted out another 30 minute workout tonight.
-
The SA trip looks like it was great. Thanks for the pictures.
Congrats, Mary, on your win. I will have to check out that training app.
Ruth-sorry to hear about Oreo.
I have been swimming and doing water fitness classes. I have a 5k this Sunday but I have not run since Oct. 1st. We'll see how this goes..
-
Denver is supposed to be 80 tomorrow!!! Over the next week it will be in the 70's and then 60's. Unbelievable weather for late October!! Cool at night and in the mornings. I just hope that we don't get hit hard when winter comes!!
Been getting my steps in....Tomorrow will be touch as I have to travel from place to place for work so won't get a mid day walk and then I have an appointment after work
I should be writing reports for work, but I've been looking at fares to go see my DD in December....should have bought it last night as it was $100 - $200 cheaper....will see what tomorrow brings!!!
Enjoy the last days in SA.
-
Wonderful news Blinkie and has your breathing eased? M0mmyof2, keep it up! Karen, Been there on on 1 day waiting for buying airfares to see them rise - drives me nuts.
Off to gym for BB
-
LilacBlue - My breathing is better. Not sure why. One possibility is that the shortness of breath was really a side effect of the anastrozole. I switched to a different manufacturer (started on Accord's pill, now taking Teva's.) I may never really know the cause. Thanks for asking about it.
-
Yesterday morning patoo and sweetandspecial took a Segway ride (hopefully they will post a picture....hint, hint). Cheryl and I were more sedate and toured a mission.
-
We looked at all the beautiful old houses in the King William District in the afternoon and toured the Villa Finale. A Victorian home restored by one of the city leaders, and full of art and antiques.
-
Cabaret at the restored Majestic Theater in the evening.
-
Hi All! I'm moving into the "regaining some strength" portion of this crazy program... all the heavy lifting is over (chemo, surgery and rads) and I'm finally able to do 30 mins. on the treadmill again. It feels good to be able to do anything without my heart beating out of my chest and feeling nauseous. I'm going to take it a day at a time but I'd like to aim for 30 mins 5 days a week like I used to do daily before this whole thing started. I'm sure like many of us, I ate right and took care of myself B.BC so this all came as quite a shock. I'm also aiming to lose the 8 or so lbs I packed on although that might be harder with the AIs for the next 5 years. One step at a time!
-
Patoo and Sweetandspecial in San Antonio - this was sooooo much fun!!!
-
One last photo before we leave beautiful San Antonio and head home! It's a lovely city, and I think we would all recommend it for a fun, interesting vacation.
-
Ruth! Patoo! SweetnSpecial! Badger! HBcheryl! And all the rest of you that got to meet up! Awesome pics, sounds like a terrific time! Sorry I missed you all this year, but it brought up great memories of seeing you all last year!
And some of the rest of you here, you are very inspiring to me! All I have been doing today, is my much delayed spring cleaning! I do it till too much sweat runs in my eyes and I can't see, but spider webs are being banished! (I was trying to let them stay there till after Halloween, but it was getting scary, so they are going away!). I always like to ready the house for winter, just in case it happens. Good ole dry Los Angeles... it looks like it wants to rain today, so perfect temperature for moving
-
As soon as I posted, big fat warm drops started falling from the sky!
-
Love that, Tomboy!!! and Love all the San Antonio pics...
I am off to DC for work next week, which means lots of walking around town to various meetings. Looks like the weather will be good, fingers crossed.
Octogirl
-
Record high in Denver this afternoon....at least 81...hot again tomorrow...today I'm short on stepsbe lucky to get to 12K....did not get a mid day walk
-
Super photos of SA gathering fun! Octogirl, when and where is you next dive? Blinkie, back out walking then? Fully understand and have experienced strong SE's of anastrozole, with QOL severely affected, so I'm one who bailed on aromatase-inhibiting drugs with onc's blessings. Karen, wow, that is hot.
Off to the best neighbor we ever had funeral at mid-day and husband not well, chest infection, I think, yet he will join us at the village church. Happy TGIF everyone!
Blockfit at the gym this evening
-
hi all and welcome Myraknits! SA was so much fun and GREAT to be with BCO sisters.
Thanks for posting the pix ladies, I have a low-tech phone w/no data plan so no pix from me.
A couple things I did solo was a visit to the Briscoe Western Art Museum to see the Ansel Adams exhibit, and a five-mile RT walk along the RiverWalk to an indie bookstore called The Twig in the Pearl district of SA.
Logged 58.2 miles walked since last post. :-)
-
Blinkie - hooray on the PET!
Patoo and Sweet - looks like you had a ball on the Segway. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time in SA. Lots of miles, Badger!!
Tomboy - when you're done doing your Spring cleaning, will you come do mine? Myra - welcome! My MO would love you - when I finished active treatment, she gave me a "prescription" for 30 minutes of activity at least 5 days a week. She said that would do more to prevent recurrence that a lot of other things. Octo - enjoy DC!! I wish I were retired already - we could meet for lunch! Have you been to DC before?
Off to the cabin this weekend. The Maryland bear hunt was this week so I'm very worried about "our" mom and baby bear - hope they came through OK. For those of you who are new here, DH and I have a cabin on wooded acreage in the Maryland mountains. There's a resident mom bear and cub we've enjoyed watching all summer.
Badger - saw this license plate last evening and thought of you. The picture didn't come out well, but it's one of those special state license plates from Maryland - this one looks like it's for UW fans and alumni because the little logo is the UWisconsin mascot badger. I figured this person is a BIG fan because they have the #1 plate. (Don't worry - DH was driving when I took the pic!)
-
Nats that made me smile because I was born in Northwestern Wisconsin. Big Badgers fan
-
On Wisconsin!!
My mom was from a small lakefront town about 90 minutes north of Milwaukee, so I spent a lot of summers there as a kid. The Badger fans are crazy in a normal sort of way, but those Packers fans are NUTS!!!!
-
Pulled in the drive at 12:25am Eastern, had a bowl of cereal and it sounds gross but then I pulled out my dirty jammies from the suitcase and crashed.
32 minutes walking, 18 minutes 'wogging' today. Beautiful, beautiful day for an outdoor workout but could really tell I fell off the c25k wagon in SA this past week plus had three short nights in a row. It was all I could do to get in the wogging segments and I ended up breaking down the 8 minute segment into two 3-minute and one 2-minute segments. Then some leaf blowing and garage housekeeping. Now back inside and stiffening up already.
Just chilling out tonight. When DH returns from the woods will whip up a Blue Apron meal and currently have a fundraiser apple pie in the oven (best damn apple pies I've ever had are from this group - I buy ten every year!).
SA was great fun - would love to have more join us in the future - the more the merrier!
-
Nats, good eye - that is Bucky Badger on that Maryland license plate. The owner is a UW alumnus. Didn't realize you could get one for states other than Wisconsin.
Tomboy, housecleaning definitely counts! We call that Scrub & Sculpt.
Exercise today was finishing the unpacking and doing laundry, including fresh sheets on the bed. Sweet, I also crashed soon after getting home. DH saved the newspapers for me so I'm halfway caught up on things LOL. Didn't watch TV most of the week away so was a nice break from the news.
This sounds crazy but it's already late 2016 and we should start thinking about 2017. Anyone have dates next year when you absolutely couldn't take vacation?
-
I have a wedding in the DC area the first or second weekend in June so would not be able to go the
-
I'd love to join you all if my schedule allows, and am potentially up for almost any location, but can't do May or June, between a family wedding and a trip I have planned....(unless you all want to come out to San Francisco in early May which is when/where the wedding is). However, if you are coming to San Francisco, or anywhere on the west coast for that matter, early to mid October is often the best weather! (It certainly is the best time of year in San Francisco, IMO)
Having a day from hell at work. actually a week from hell. TGIF! I am adapting and adopting Badger's motto to keep calm and to move forward!
-
Climbed up and down the stairs in my house for 30 minutes today. Drove my cat crazy.
"Scrub & sculpt" -- hahahaha! I did that yesterday.
I love seeing all the photos - San Antonio, bears, etc.
-
Yep we Packer fans are a bit nuts! Taking in a Packers game at Lambeau Is on my "Bucket List". I also have taking in a Badgers game at Camp Randall on it too!!!!!
Blasted out another 30 minute workout tonight
-
Myraknits: Welcome!
Badger: I know you enjoyed the Ansel Adams exhibit.
Nats: Hope your bear went into hiding. I am NOT a fan of hunting.
Patoo and Sweet: Love your picture on the Segways!
LB: Sorry about your neighbor. Also, hope your dh feels better.
Hello All! We have been having gorgeous weather. Walked (no running because sinuses are acting up) at the park late this evening.
-
Got home about 11:00 & still on a roll, I changed to my winter closet (which I put off due to needing the shorts & short sleeves in San Antonio). This morning I washed clothes, helped rake some leaves, did some touch up painting, and went walking with a friend, her two dogs, & Stella the grand-dog. I should have done some toning; but so far that hasn't happened (since it is 7:30 pm, I'm pretty sure it isn't going to!).
Welcome, Myra!
-
Today I made a leap and went to the wellness centre in town. I road a bike for an hour and committed to 3 sessions next week.I feel surprisingly good.next week I'll get some swimming in as well. Good news this week my insurer has approved my ibrance till April at which time I need to reapply if I need to continue.TGIF!
