TN and Personal Blogs?
I've tried to do a local search on here but came up empty handed. Does anyone here have personal blogs they regularly update? I personally have started one and I find it so therapeutic, not only to write, but to hear other's stories. I really wish I could hear more from people that are farther out than me, but it seems that most stop posting after treatments and move on with their lives so to speak. I do love discussions here but I typically only use my phone which makes responding hard, etc. (BCO app would be great...mods?) And I think it would be nice to hear one person's story at a time with discussions below...anyone else feel similar? Do you know of any blogs?
I would love to read about people's stories and journey's especially in "life after". Like dating, having/not having children, new normals, and new body expectations. I may cross post this to get a feel for what's out there.

I've been bouncing the idea around about starting one myself.

Hanley, so glad it made you giggle! I try to be as positive on there as possible but not gonna lie it get's heavy. All part of the processing, laughter and tears.
Every woman I know that is affected and has started writing has found it beneficial one way or another. I personally think it helps me process my thoughts and also gives insight to those around me who think that once you are declared in remission it's all sunshine and rainbows. So 10/10 highly recommend. Which is why I'm looking for more stories to read and people to connect with! My blog has already sprouted a couple wonderful friendships and has caused at least two that I know of to go get tested (one becoming diagnosed herself).
If you start one please let me know so I can offer my eyes and support!

Young - I finally got to read your blog this morning! Your story, your writing style and your humor are amazing! You had me laughing and crying all at the same time. Your strength in dealing with this crap at the age of 26 is what struck me the most.
I'm going to continue to follow your story in hopes that it will selfishly help me (who at the age of 44 does not have half your courage!) I can learn a lot from you!
I'm hoping to have the chance sometime today to check out the other blogs listed on your site for the other young women. I wish you wouldn't have had to meet under these circumstances but I am glad you found eachother.

I'm so glad you liked it Maryann! I feel like that's cancer though, right? Laughing and crying at the absurdity of it all. I think we al have courage here, that's the whole point. Facing something head on when you're scared. Again, thanks and let me know if you start one, or if you come across some more noteworthy ones to share!

Wow, thanks guys! I needed to see this. I have been on a posting hiatus because things have just been hitting me. First my lymphedema just absolutely would not let up and that was a hard pill to swallow. I was really hoping it would get better after my exchange sx. Then a good friend I made (actually found her here) had a recurrence which was just hitting way too close to home. On top of that I've been really hard on myself and having serious body image issues. I gained so much weight and nothing looks or feels the same (anyone else experience this?)!
I SO appreciate you guys being so kind and supportive. You put some extra pep in my step. Maybe I can process my feeling and post soon. xoxo
Samantha I'm headed your way to read now! SO excited!

Samantha! Your hair shaving vid was everythinggggg! I relate to your story so much. I look forward to reading more. Your humor is amazing. I feel like I need to post that "oh you get to have nice fake boobs" blurb as a PSA on my Facebook. WHY does everyone say that? And I loved my real boobs anyway! How is your pixie coming? There are times when I'm like yeah this is ok and other days I'm so tired of looking like a boy! haha

Hi all,
I have a blog I started almost 5 years ago (wow, so hard to believe!) when I was diagnosed the first time (ER+). I blogged throughout my treatment and decided to stop a while after treatment ended. I then started again earlier this year when diagnosed with a local recurrence that is TN. In on a brief hiatus right now as we wait for definitive word on the spots on my spine and left hip, at which time I expect I'll start blogging again. Here it is, if you're interested:

(Sorry, can't seem to make it a hot link from my phone).

I'm blogging as well. I find it therapeutic, but it also answers questions for my family and friends. You can view it here:

And now I'm reading yours! So many similarities in how we feel about things, and our responses. I found myself tearing up and thinking--YES, exactly! There are differences too, which strangely make me grateful. Thanks for sharing your blog; you're an excellent writer!

Reina_de_los_changos, welcome to BCO. Please, everyone, if you have a story or blog entry that you think should post on our site, please share it with us. We know that we learn so much from reading about others, and the stories section is for this reason very popular.
Thank you!
