Scans and more scans

Options

Hi,

Janurary marks 9 years since my first diagnosis. Breast Cancer, Stage 2 only by size. chemo, bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction and tamoxifen. Alll at the age of 30. Last week I came down with an UTI, they ordered a CT scan of my kidneys to rule out kidney stones. I do have 2 stones, along with the incidental finding of nodules around my lung..... PET scan is scheduled for Saturday. Any similar experiances? I am in total shock.

Chris

Would be helpful if you put your stats into your profile. Have no idea how to discuss with you otherwise.

I am so sorry that you have had this incidental finding. I also have a king nodule that, after scanning for two years is considered benign. There are a lot of women here with benign lung nodules.

Good luck and I hope everything turns out ok.

    Take care.

Same here! I had a CT of my heart and there was an incidental finding of nodules on my lungs. NOBODY is concerned. Lung nodules are very common. My onc (who was not the one to order the CT scan) took the films and reviewed them with the radiologist. He told her that "we aren't looking at metastatic disease"; this was enough for her to cancel the PET scan. Standard of care is to re-CT at 3, 6 and 12 months. My sistter, also a survivor, also has some lung nodules. So does my mom. My onc said she probably does too. Come on down off the ledge!!

It has been awhile since I posted, two biopsy's later, they have confirmed that I have breast mets on my right lung. I meet with my oncology team tomorrow to go over a treatment plan.

Oh, Chris. I'm so sorry for this news. We always hold out hope that "it's nothing" because how else can we move forward in life? I'm so sorry that this time it's "something".

I am 8 years out from my original dx, and was found to have a recurrence last month. Working on surgical dates and follow up treatment. Just when we thought we were out of the woods, BAM!

Hang in there. We can do this!

Shoot... Chris, there aren't any words for how sorry I am. I'd been hoping you were just caught up in the normal pre-holiday busyness and hadn't had time to post. I can't add anything to what Karen and the others have said above, except my own prayers and support.
