Biopsy result in one day?????

i had core needle biopsy 9 am tuesday Dr just called tonight Wednesday at 8 pm said biopsy was benign seems like it came back so fast I'm worried I guess how fast it got back its b9 which I'm thrilled but worry it came back so quick any answers or thoughts on this thank you

    Lindaerwin, I don't know what to say. Both pathology reports took about a week to be sent to the surgeon. Maybe your laboratory didn't have a great caseload to be able to check it so soon. Maybe they just the slides and made a general view of them and later they will send the path report.

    Anyway, congrats for a benign result.

    I don't think you need to worry about this. Be glad it is benign.

    Turnaround time has nothing to do with anything but how busy they are

    What about getting a copy of the pathology report and seeing it yourself on paper? That would give you some assurance I would think. My doctor phoned me herself 6:00 Monday night to tell me my core biopsy results from Oct 6th came back benign, and I was still planning to get a copy of the report next time I see her. And now her office phoned me at4:30 today for me to come in tomorrow to see her 9:15 a.m. I sure hope she's not going to be telling me something different

    they didn't say on phone why she needed you to come in but she already told you it came back benign why do we have to worry so much this is so nerve racking I thought my news was good tonight but now I'm not sure. Won't get no sleep tonight

    I'm sorry lindaerwin I didn't mean to add to your stress. I was thinking that hearing benign is better than heating nothing for sure, and if you want to be sure they're giving you accurate results you could ask for a copy of the report. I hope you do sleep well, take care.

    it is great to hear back so quickly. Take the good news but follow up to get it in writing also just for your own peace of mind
