Hi, sorry I just saw your post. I had a nipple sharing procedure a few years ago. It was successful. The graft survived. Both nipples looks fine. Please let me know what you have decided.

Hi there, earlier this week I just went through a multiprocedure breast reconstruction on both breasts, one of the procedures was nipple sharing (I had MX and implant on left breast in 2013, and the right breast was healthy, so they are sharing the right nipple) With my new nipple, will I have to get additional work done (3D tatoo, etc.) to create an areola? Thank you in advance for your input.

Update on my procedure. I had the operation October 10th. Next week it will make it a month since my procedure. The nipple sharing was successful, actually, I am very impressed by it! I really believe the addition of live tissue (nipple) to my mastectomied breast made my scar fade! It is looking much better. My bruises from the lipo are almost gone, but I still have rib pain. One thing I did not expect (and that the PS did not warn me about) was that I developed an infection under my right breast after the mastopexy (for symmetry). I guess I was supposed to keep guaze underneath the breast but they did not instruct me of this. The stitched area is not completely closed. I am now starting to appreciate the lift and am happy with having two nipples again, but I still have a little more work/recovery ahead of me.
