Waiting for biopsy results
Hi everyone,
I had a FNAB yesterday morning on a suspicious area of thickening that is palpable but does not show on any imaging (one mammogram and three separate ultrasounds). My breast surgeon seems like he's not that worried about cancer but wants to rule it out which is why I had the biopsy. I'm 30 years old and do not have dense breast tissue. In fact, my breasts are almost entirely fatty. I have heard of breast cancer being missed on imaging due to density, but that's clearly not the case with me. The area of palpability is also free of any noticeable dense tissue (have a tiny amount here and there) on imaging. I'm puzzled why it can't be seen but only felt. Post biopsy, I saw the samples which consisted entirely of fluid. 2 viles were bloody and 2 were yellowish clear. Ive ready concerning things about bloody fluid in samples but the breast surgeon told me that was a myth and especially so in my case(I guess bc it was a blind biopsy and he wasn't aspirating a mass persay). Still, I'm nervous. Hoping for results soon and looking to commiserate.

Hi Edel-
I just wanted to know I read your post, and while I can't address your specific concern....I'm hoping and praying your concerns are eased from the results. The wait stinks, hang in there and please keep us posted on your results. Lots of positive thoughts your way....

hi Kelly,
It was so kind of you to respond. Thank you! Lots of love and prayers to you. Xox

I had a skin punch biopsy this week for thickening that wasn't seen on mamogram or ultrasound. They finally could see it on the MRI. Though it is palpable and has skin puckering alongside. My area is about 17cmx15cm. I have an appointment for my results on Wednesday. I'll play the waiting game with you.

Thank you for responding, AutismMamma. I saw a few of your posts just now and it looks like you've already been through so much. I pray for answers and benign results for you, soon. I am still waiting on my biopsy results.

hi Edel
I'm so happy I found your thread I'm in the same position as you. Palpable lump in right breast but not seen on mammogram or ultrasound had a core biopsy this morning
Hope all turns out well please come back and post and keep us all updated.

hi minisue! Thank you. Prayers for good news for you, too. I'm still waiting for results. Everyday feels harder. Please keep me posted!

kayb,
I can't tell you how much your response means to me because I've been pretty fixated on bloody = bad. My BS offers little to nothing in the way of speculation and is not the type to play the maybe game which is both good and bad. Hearing from you that the sample points to a benign finding has made waiting a little more tolerable. So kind of you - lifted my spirits! Thank you!!!

it's so easy to get fixated on the negative when in this situation.
I got my apt for my results next Friday 28th which not meaning to sound dramatic but is forever away.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow
Let us know how you get on

Minisue,
That does sound very far away! Waiting is very, very hard.
Still no news on my end. The truth is the BS office did say it could take 5-7 business days but I interpreted that as a formality rather than fact. I expected news much sooner. It is what it is. I'm feeling good today. I'm hoping to hear something today but I am distracted enough that I can manage the day. My new concern is having to wait another weekend. They told me that is not likely to happen, but it could. I know that the BS has to review the path results after they come in before any patients can get any news and that he's not always in the office (because he's in surgery which I totally understand). If I have to wait, I have to wait. Many, many women have been in my position so I need to keep things in perspective. Trying to focus on all the beauty in my life - and there is a lot to be thankful for! Hope you're hanging in. xo

Hi
Oh I am going insane to be honest. Every time I go to the bathroom I keep checking my lump. I'm reading into everything right down to actually having no pain or bruising since the biopsy. Where my lump is feels alittle swollen but other than that no other pain. Little stabbing pain very very intermittently.
I don't know how I'm going to keep going until next Friday. With this being breast awareness month - oh lord it's everywhere and why oh why have the two stories that I have actually read been eerily similar to my story
Edel, I'm glad you are doing well and I hope you get some positive news real soon.
Autismmamma I'm sending so many good vibes to you for today
Waiting really does stink! But I'm glad we have each other on here because I don't really have anyone here that I can freak out too. 😘

I'm glad you don't have any pain or bruising! My breast is very bruised and yellowish. Also, the tissue feels very tender now so I don't know if that's related. I'm trying not to touch it and assume its tender because it's healing.
It's now been a full week since my biopsy and I still do not have my results. I'm finding itdifficult to concentrate today and am starting to get a little worried that the results won't be good. Wondering if I am going to need to wait through another weekend. Time will tell.
Hope you're feeling good today, minisue!

hi Edel
I noticed that today I'm starting to lose it slightly! I think it's because I know it's officially a week away from tomorrow and since Monday has felt like an eternity.
I have noticed that some pain is coming into my breast - little stabby pains nothing continuos but annoying none the less. I still have swelling in the area of the biopsy but I'm hoping that will go down soon. I'm also noticing alittle itch but I'm also wondering if I have officially gone mad which I think is actually possible at this stage.
Oh Edel I hope for your sake that you hear something tomorrow ! Some good news to start the weekend off on. Hopefully your tenderness is getting better. i am sure that you are like me and keep touching to see if there any change. Think we are not helping ourselves But what else can we do!!
Sending good thoughts and happy vibes to you. I'm on Twitter if you are and want to chat I'm @ww_susie

hi minisue,
Thank you for thinking of me! I got my results yesterday. The Pathology came back with high risk cells (ADH) and its speculated that the lump might be a papilloma but not I have not gotten a cancer diagnosis. I will be having a lumpectomy/excisional biopsy in the next few weeks to find out if there are any cancer cells in the lump/thickening. More waiting. I am doing lots of praying for benign results. Please keep me posted on your appointment!
I'm going to hop over to the high risk board. Feel good!!

Hi Minisue,
I just wanted to check in on how you're doing? I hope you're feeling good.
xo

hi Edel
Thanks for checking in.
I received a phone call confirming my review apt and the BC nurse confirmed my lump is benign. Thank god. I don't have much other info yet but that's the most important - the review apt is tomorrow so I will get more info then.
Thank you so much for your support here. It really takes so much strength to make the first doctor phone call to get to this point.
Be your own hero! That's exactly what we are doing.
Stay strong and if you are on Twitter look me up at ww_susie to catch up.
