Before you were diagnosed did you "know" already?

I know this is going to sound strange, but for the past 8 or 9 months I've been complaining to my doctors about a vibration in my right breast like a cell phone vibrating even though I have never put my phone inside or near my breast. One doctor ordered a chest xray which showed nothing. After I was diagnosed and had my biopsy the vibration went away. I am post surgery one week now with Stage 1, Grade 1. I had a lumpectomy with one-time IORT at the time of surgery and I am all done with radiation. There were no cancer cells in my lymph nodes. I need to take Arimedex for 5 years. I learned that my 1 cm tumor was near a nerve. I am pretty sure that the tumor was pressing on the nerve enough to cause an intermittent vibration that never went away until the biopsy. So yes, my body was telling me something was wrong but I didn't even consider breast cancer. My tumor was very deep. A thermogram didn't find it either. A mammogram saved my life.

Six months ago I had a dream that I was crawling after my sister with severe breast cancer in my breasts begging her for help. She is an ob/gyn. That night I kept half waking up and feeling a "zinger" in my right breast. I woke up in the morning and felt a possible small abnormal area in my breast and called my sister. She got me in for a mammogram and ultrasound which showed a 1.3 cm IDC. My oncologist at Dana Farber said I was lucky to find it. I am now one week out from my BMX. It was grade 3 and already in my lymph node, even though tiny. I feel blessed and a little freaked out that I found it so early. My body was obviously telling me something.

No, I didn't expect anything except a regular mammogram. So when I received a letter from DIS, stating that my mammogram was suspicious and they wanted to do more tests I didn't worry because in the past they had called me back for Fibrocystic Breast. They just haven't said anything about it for years

Lita57, I am so, so sorry. I hate cancer. It fucked up my life forever. I have to say that sometimes.
I was scheduled for a hysterectomy in March of 2015 so I was at my pre-surgery appointment, and my surgeon asked me if I would like to have my ovaries taken out and I said no. He then went on to tell me about ovarian cancer...I told him, "I know this is going to sound weird but I know that I am never going to get cancer". I was diagnosed in February. The cancer was in my body already I just hadn't felt the lump yet. I did feel in on January 23rd (I am a journaler). I felt it in the shower. There was no denying it. I was moving to Switzerland in June too. I know feel a lump in my other breast in the exact same spot.

Fe: Yep, cancer sucks. Hope it never comes back for you.

Psssh-- I thought I knew. 0__0 No risk factors, had cyclic pain, small mobile lump the year before. Figured anything else going on in there was fibroid, PMS. Life got in the way of things, and then BOOM it got to be a nonmobile HUGE thing in the span of a couple months. After-the-fact risk score calculated "5-year risk score for breast cancer 0.7% ... lifetime risk score 8%." I need a lottery ticket ...
