Chest wall/rib pain
I had mastectomy 16 months ago ..no reconstruction,no chemo,no radiation.I am doing great ..I have been having this little pain on my chest close to my other breast that too only on certain angle when I move my myself like back my car or in some yoga poses.I had this before too and it went away with brufen in few days.but this time I think it is longer than before.
Is this a side effect of surgery? Does any body has the same pain? It's not affecting my quality life but it's there on certain time particularly on stretching .

Is your pain constant or only when you move a certain way?
I have a pain on my cancer side (had BXM and recon two years later) that is definitely a muscle being pulled. I only get it when I reach down to release the gasoline door latch which is down on the floor to the left of the driver's seat in my car. I'd probably get it other times too, if I moved the same way, but that's the only time I stretch my arm down and forward, and pull up with my fingers at the same time. Strange position. Strange sensation/pain. Some time I have to rub my side to work it out, like a charlie horse pain in my calf.

it's not constant only when I move in certain way.Does your go away itself or you take some medication

It's a muscle or nerve pain that goes away shortly after I move back to a normal position. Sometimes I have to give it a rub, but it doesn't last long. It's duller than a pinched nerve. I don't take anything for it because it's gone in a few seconds.

I just called my Oncologist and scheduled an appt. I am having tenderness in my left beast that worsens with deep breaths.

Good luck, coatiebug! I hope it's nothing more that a muscle or nerve condition. Those are certainly painful and annoying but can usually be treated and resolved.

I suggest you read some info on costochondritis to see if this sounds possible w/ regards to your pain. I developed this wonderful condition as a result of my pre-op breast MRI, which was the most painful procedure of any other with regards to my bc. Had I known that this could be a result of the MRI, I would have never have agreed to it, because this is now a life-long, painful, activity-limiting condition, not to mention the added medications I have to take to live with these thus far frequent flareups. I hope, for your sake, that your pain is not costo., coz this sure ain't fun! Best wishes to you & all on this website.

So sorry to hear of your discomfort. I also had sternal pain following my procedure, much after all therapy. If possible, PET Scan should reduce concern. I use a Lidocaine patch, which helps.Hugs and prayers 😊
