lower back pain means metastasis??????

edited October 2016 in Not Diagnosed With a Recurrence or Metastases but Concerned

My mother diagnosed stage 3 triple positive breast cancer. She had chemo, mastectomy, radiotherapy. Now she is on Herceptin and Femara. For three days she has severe lower back pain. She had PET scan a year ago and had no distant metastasis. I am so worried it means metastasis or not.

I feel terrible:(

    Not necessarily so hang in there until she has scans and you have results. I know it's scary, but at this point you just don't know what is causing the pain. Good thoughts for you mom and you.

    Femara can make every joint hurt.

    I hope it is from Femara. This kind of early metastasis is so scary.

    My mother lives alone , no Brothers and Sisters. And now I am 33 week twin pregnant. I am worried how will I handle all these things if it is metastasis

    Today She had MRI. Luckily lumbar MRI showed no tumour, no metastasis. Only eudemotous nerves.

    I am writing this for people who have lumbar pain not to panic immediately like me ☺

    Lumbar pain usually arises from a worn facet joint (rough craggy vertebra), sometimes either pressing on a nerve or disk or even causing the disk to rupture and leak its gel. Can happen to us all, the likelier the older we get. (I threw my lower back out for the first time in my mid-30s).
