I was diagnosed with breast cancer in jan 2016. my breast surgeon did a lumpectomy in feb 2016. she said everything was great, i was to have radiation followed by pills. twice at later dates she reiterated this. after mapping and radiation scheduling i saw my oncologist who went absolutely crazy, said i had triple negative breast cancer, pills were not going to help, that i had 3 years to live, that i had the worst type of breast cancer and she could not understand how the breast surgeon or the radiologist had seen it different. on getting my records i saw where both the surgeon and the radiologist at a later date had noted that i was TNBC yet my surgeon has refused to communicate with me telling me to "get a lawyer". I have finished chemo (i would not wish this on my worst enemy) and radiation and have been told i am almost back to normal. what am i to do, any help or suggestion is welcome. thanks in advance. b

Bobbie, I'm sorry this happened. I'm a little unclear on what kind of advice you're seeking. If I understand correctly, you now have a copy of your records from the surgeon and radiation oncologist. Are you concerned about follow-up care from a surgeon now that your chemotherapy is complete, are you considering legal action for feeling mislad about your prognosis and wonder if others have had a similar experience or do you want input on something else?

I'm also triple negative and am wondering about your oncologist's comment regarding your future. Were you given a stage that led her to the three year projection? Did the original lab records show something other than triple negative? I ask because my pre-operative biopsy showed HER2 positive while my solid tumor report was triple negative. Pills would typically only be appropriate for hormone positive cancers.

You must feel very scared and worried.

    Lyn
