BRAC 1-Ovaries removed now mass showing in pelvis

Hello Ladies,

Was hoping maybe someone will have some information on what I am experiencing. For about three months now, I have been having pain in what I thought was my left hip. It would come and go, but had started to become more frequent and very painful. I was starting to get pain in my groin and it would move locations in the hip. My annual check was coming up, so I just figured I would wait until then to discuss with my onc. He ordered a bone scan and CT scan. Bone scan was clear, but CT shows 4-5cm mass/cyst in my pelvis. He called yesterday and has ordered an Ultrasound for today. He is very concerned because both ovaries were removed at the same time my bi-lat mastectomy was done due to BRCA1 positive. I am trying not to worry, but we all know how that goes! Has anyone experienced anything like this, or heard of this? Thank you for any information you can share!

Even when ovaries are removed BRCA1 still has risk of peritoneal cancer. Was your oophorectomy done with the morcellator? Your hip and groin pain may be from something else like sciatica too but your CT did not mention anything that could be causing the pain. Even if this would be cancer they may try to treat you with curative intent since you have oligometastases. Will they be able to biopsy the spot?

Thank you, inks for responding. I had an ultrasound done yesterday. The tech was able to find it. It is a little over 3cm and looks to be attached to the outside of my colon. She said that there was blood supply close to it, and that it was almost resting on my iliac vein, which could be causing the pain I have been having, that I thought was my hip/groin. Said reports would be sent to the Doc. Not sure where we will go from here. I am not sure on the morcellator. They were removed at the same time of my bi-lat mastectomy.

Fingers crossed that it has something to do with your colon. And I think it's great that they did not note any abnormal lymphnodes during the CT or ultrasound. Hope you get more information soon.
