Hello- my almost 59 year old mother has to have a biopsy today of a suspicious mass found on a mammogram last week and confirmed to be suspicious on ultrasound. The only info she has is that it's tiny- I think she said 5-6 mm- and has indistinct borders. it was noted to be a newly developing area since her mammogram 2 years ago. She has been told she has dense breasts as well as benign calcifications so I am glad they did the ultrasound. The mass is non palpable, only discovered on this mammogram.Anyway, she should have biopsy results by Fri but waiting and worrying is hard. Any tips for how to support her through this or questions she should be asking would be helpful and appreciated! Thanks in advance ❤️

Make her laugh. Remind her that she is strong and you are there for her. But laughter really can the best medicine.

Thanks... she said it went well, she didn't have any discomfort. The rad. checked her lymph nodes w/the US again and saw nothing suspicious. She has an appt w/the nurse on Fri. which was scheduled ahead of time when they scheduled the biopsy, so I guess good to know there will be some answers and when. This sucks! I have been sending her photos and videos of my kiddos being goofy as well as funny (or scary? lol) things about the election. Wishing you peace if you are waiting on a dx as well!
