Has anyone tried iodine?

I have been trying to find a solution to the weight gain issue wth Femara. I have been on Femara for approximately six years and have gained about 30 pounds, and seem to be at a pace lately to gain more. I have been able to manage to maintain over the years, for the most part, but cannot lose at all. I've recently noticed that I am gaining again. I recently read that the weight gain is due to lack of LPL activity, but could not find any safe way to boost that activity level. Then I came across an alternative to taking the anti-estrogen therapy - iodine. I was reading on http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/iodine how iodine can produce the same reduction of estrogen as these medications (Femara, Arimidex, etc.), but without the weight gain, aches and pain, etc. I am one of those people who will most likely take Femara indefinitely because the cancer had traveled to my ovaries, and there is a possibility that there may be dormant cells that could be a problem if I discontinue the Femara.

Has anyone tried this? Please let me know if anyone has successfully tried this, or if there is a doctor who may have extensive knowledge on this. Thank you!

I have taken iodine as a supplement because I do not use iodized salt (I use sea salt). I have never used it as a cancer-alternative-type-treatment. It does affect the thyroid and mine is sluggish.
