after my very last chemo treatment (4 was adrimycin and 4 paclitaxol) I developed neuropathy in my feet and both hands! So afraid it's permanent. I fell at the high school football game and think my neuropathy played a roll in my fall (omg I was so embarrassed!). I'm on 300mg gabapentin 3 x a day. It seems to help some but whew mornings are horrible and the meds just seem to help with the pain. Praying it's temporary but also aware it could be perm. Any tips for dealing with numb feet???? Very frustrated!

Jackie

    Hi Jbakerwebb,

We're so sorry to hear you're dealing with this awful side effect. Hopefully some members will be by shortly with their tips and advice. In the meantime, you may want to check out the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Neuropathy for some things to consider while managing this side effect.

We hope this helps and that you feel better soon!

Hi to another Okie! I hope your neuropathy does improve. I actually took up to 1500 tom1800mg of neurontin for 2 years. I have now weaned off of it and have fingertips and toes with numbness and intermittent pain...burning lots of night...but seemingly no different now without the medication. Trust me, when it was at its worst, the med. seemed to really help. So I guess in my case it did resolve. But, my brain is better off of the neurontin. I'm smarter again!

Hopefully as time goes on and you are farther and farther out from the toxins it will improve.
