Diagnosed with IDC - Two Tumors

Has anyone else had IDC with more than one tumor at initial diagnosis? Imaging and biopsies confirmed two tumors, with similar characteristics. Each tumor is about 1cm, and they are about 2.5 cm apart. I had lumpectomy and sentinel node resection 10 days ago. Still awaiting call from BS with results, which is frustrating.

I had one lump I could feel that was IDC and after my mastectomy there was another area of DCIS with few IDC. My BS, though felt like the initial lump could be removed with BCS, didn't like the look of my mammogram and suggested the mastectomy. So glad he did with what we ended up finding after.

I had two tumors-one was IDC, ER+, PR+ and the second, on other side, was HER2+ and ER, PR-. I had treatment 2 years ago-double lumpectomy with reconstruction, I had chemo, radiation and Herceptin. It is not unusual to have more than one site from what I have read. Hang in there!

Yup, two tumors. Lumpectomy, chemo, rads....almost 10 years out. Hang in there; it can be okay!

Hi Susan, I had 2 small IDC tumors initially and a third one was found just before surgery on MRI. 4cm apart. Lumpectomy 3 weeks ago and margins were fine. I did chemo first, rads up next. Good luck!
