Other breast lump

Options

Hi. How common is it to have breast cancer occurring on the other breast. Anybody experienced such thing.

And how common is it to have breast cancer but you get a different form of cancer on the other breast with different staging.

It is been two weeks till now and i experienced heaviness in my left breast and pain. I then had my period after which i felt a small lump in my breast at 7 o'clock. It is very soft and smooth....not sure if it is cyst or lump.

I am currently on assignment in africa and wont be able to meet my doctor begore Dec.

It can happen; my mom had a new primary in her other breast. Is there a clinic you can get to that can do some testing?

I have been wanting to ask the same question. I can feel a lump on my right breast at 2 o'clock. It feels like my other tumor did but not as large. I had a mammogram in March and nothing was seen. I keep telling myself that I am being paranoid.

Kbeee, you had a 2nd dx a year and a half after your first one?

Fe Princess, I did. Less than 18 months after BMX. I do have a pretty crappy family history of cancer.....or maybe it's just rotten luck! Hoping it's gone for good this time, but not a complete optimist!

Kbeee, how did you find the other tumor?

FePrincess, I felt it. It was in the same location as the other tumor and it felt identical. They did not think it was cancer (they were "sure" it was scar tissue), so they took it out in chunks; hence they could not stage it based on size. Once it came back as cancerous, they did a reexcision and during that surgery found a second small tumor a couple inches away.

Did you have reconstruction after the mastectomy? I feel a lump in my right breast in the exact same spot that the left breast had one.

Fe princess, Yes. I had implant reconstruction. The new lump felt like a frozen pea. I should add that I have had a couple other lumps biopsied since then which were all scar tissue; this one felt different.

Can somebody advise here, i am sort of confused. Pea size lump!!! Does that mean cancer. As i am feeling something very small the size of my finger nail, soft and smooth.

Dies that mean pea size, what about smooth edges...

Hi Kbeee, was it on the outer, upper side by the underarm? Thanks for your responses.

Nileladdy2016, if you are feeling a lump, I would see my doctor. Have you had breast cancer before? Which breast is the lump in and where is it located on the breast?

Nilelady, none of us are doctors, and even if we were, no doctor can diagnose BC via discussion board. All Breast changes should be checked out, but here are many benign Breast lumps. BC is not an acute situation (unless it is IBC which does not typically present as a lump if you are in Africa, You should just hang tight until you see your doc in December.

HI Nilelady, I'm not sure where on assignment you are in Africa, but there are many top medical centers in south Africa- . Is it possible for you to just go get checked out ? Otherwise, I'd be sure to call home and schedule something for the first week you are back. Its better just to get checked than worry and wonder. Best wishes.

Fe Princess: it was in the upper, outer quadrant, halfway between reconstructed nipple and axilla. It felt like a frozen pea or a little pebble. My other tumor (second time around) was just under the edge of the pec muscle near the axilla

I was diagnosed with Invasive breast cancer in 2010. Right breast had modified radical mastectomy with chemo and radiation. Now the lump is on left breast lower inner quardent.

i know none are doctors but i thought of just sharing our symptoms..each one is different i know but sometimes we give support by sharing.

Lets all hope for our best.

    By the way

I saw 2 doctors today and both of them said they cant feel anything and the other said it is subareolar lymph node which i do not understand. How can i have lymph in lower part of breast

Hi Nilelady2016, I am sorry that you're away from home with this. I would wait to see a doctor that you know to have a mammogram or ultrasound. I do not know of any lymph nodes under the areolar. Does this lump feel like the first one?

How did he diagnose an infection? Did he do any tests? Doctors sometimes are not considerate. Is there another doctor there that you can see?

he did not do anythinh, apart from a strange clinical exam. He used the palm of his hand and with its center rubbed by breast in circular motion.

And he said he cant feel anything and the exam is not by fingers.

    Nit convinced at all
